Nieves Oval Stone and Solid Wood Dining Table by Autonomous Furniture
By Autonomous Furniture, Kirk Van Ludwig
Located in Victoria, BC
The Nieves table combines natural materials from two elements wood and stone to create an elevated table that stimulates the senses. Starting with solid wood that is sourced as close to home as possible, our designer Kirk Van Ludwig selected Dekton ultra-compact stone by Cosentino as a carbon neutral product that is heat and stain resistant. The oval shape invites guests to gather intimately around the Nieves table likely drawn to touch the beveled edge of the wood frame beneath the stone tabletop. The leg structure uses wood grain that is deliberately angled to highlight the grain direction showcasing superior craftsmanship. The Nieves oval table, the focal point of the Nieves collection - it was amidst the crisp mountain air and the whisper of the wind that the name Nieves was born, a homage to the legendary Virgen de las Nieves, the patron saint of Sierra Nevada. The Nieves table came to be with that in mind, the combination of two natural earthly elements - stone and wood - evoke a sense of calmness and beauty” – Kirk Van Ludwig. Features: Contemporary design of an oval dining table contrasting the stone tabletop with natural solid wood leg structure. Dekton tabletop in Umber set on solid natural oak leg structure. Designed by Kirk Van Ludwig, nine-time Designer of the Year finalist for Western Living magazine. A modern furniture aficionado. Specifications: 78" x 47.75" x 29" H. Larger size 96...
