This model of a chair is one of Mallet-Stevens's best-known pieces of furniture that he created for the Salon des Art Ménagers exhibition in 1936. Mallet-Stevens vision on furniture was that it should be “Functional in terms of contemporary living, simple and suitable for mass production”.
