William Turner Gallery opened its doors in 1991 on Market Street in Venice, California, in the former studio of renowned Light and Space artist DeWain Valentine. Founded by William Turner—a trained attorney, arts advocate, and longtime arts editor for Venice Magazine—the gallery quickly established itself as a pivotal venue in the vibrant Los Angeles art scene.
