An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver cigarette box, an addition to the ornamental silverware collection. This exceptional antique George V sterling silver cigarette box has a plain rectangular form onto four bracket style feet. The body of this impressive cigarette box is plain and unembellished. The box is fitted with two hallmarked hinged covers each embellished with an engine turned panel in addition to a paralleling, broad engine turned decorated border. The central plateau is surmounted with an impressive plain shaped handle. The body of this exceptional box is fitted with a cedar wood lining and the surface interior of each solid silver cover retains the original gilded interior. The silver box is supported by four impressive bracket style feet. This antique cigarette box has a weighted base and retains the original leatherette covering to the underside. By Virtue of its size this versatile antique cigarette box could be used for a multitude of functions. Note: The majority of such boxes have a wood lining to the cover, it is a sign of quality when boxes have an unlined, solid silver covers. Condition This antique sterling silver cigarette box is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition, in keeping with age. The piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. There are some minor surface dings to the side panels of the body. The engine turned decoration is all very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the box and part hallmarks to the interior of each cover are all very clear, the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver. Chinoiserie orange enameled box by Louis Kuppenheim. Outstanding rare box, created during the art deco period in the city of Pforzheim Germany, back in the late 1930. This wonderful box is closely to mint condition, designed with cushioned shapes and chinoiserie patterns at the Louis Kuppenheim silversmith workshop. Crafted in solid .935/.999 silver, with gilt interiors and embellished with chiseled borders. Has an exceptional workmanship as you expect of the workshop of Louis Kuppenheim, with remarkable vivid orange enamels on both faces and the the four lateral panels. The main figure is a bird resting in a golden tree, which is made up with multicolor cloisonné technique. As a note, this box can be actually used for presentation cards and is fitted with an integrated mechanical push button. Weight: 125.40 Grams, (80.38 Dwt). Enameled box by Louis Kuppenheim for Alfred Dunhill. An extraordinary box, created in the city of Pforzheim Germany during the art deco period, back in the late 1920's. This superb elegant case box is closely to mint condition, is very rare and was carefully crafted at the Louis Kuppenheim workshop in solid .935/.999 silver, with gilt interiors. Exceptional workmanship as you expect of the workshop of Louis Kuppenheim, with remarkable enameled patterns of peacocks feathers on both faces. Embellished around with white enamel frames and the borders with incised and carved panels with flowers. The side parts with black enamel.
