Napoleon III Pedestal Clock “Parquet Regulator” after Jean-Henri Riesener, 1734

Located in Berlin, DE

A Model of Jean Henri Riesener (Received Master in 1768) executed in 1785. (inv. OA 5501 In Louvre Museum). 19th Century. This fine and sumptuous “Regulateur de Pendule” presents a fine amaranth. Of Sycamore oeuil de vermeuil, ebony and buis stringing marquetry. The base and the gaine are decorated with diamond shapes. The hours are inscribed in Roman numerals and the munutes in Arabic. It takes place in a magnificent gilt décor of three winged children playing with garlands on clouds. The regulateur is enriched with a delicate garniture of bronze. The dial and each panel are framed by an elegant frieze of palms and pearls. The top of the gaine is enhanced with a frieze of palms and ovums, foliages and garlands of flowers. Each corner is ornated with fleurons. The front of the gaine is embellished by an Apollo mask (Sun Symbol) and each side with laurel crowns. Under the mask the cartouche is decorated by a stylized vase of flowers. Foliated scrolls, flowers, garlands, cornucopias and musical instruments such as a harp (Apollo Reference) the cherubs are underlined by pearls, scrolls of Acanthus Leaves and garlands dawning out in foliages, framed with ropes until the lions feet. The feet rest on a base ornated with fleurons and foliages with buds of flowers ending in four conical feet with acanthus leaves. With André-Charles Boulle (1642–1732) and Charles Cressent (1685–1768), Riesener was arguably one of the three greatest French ébénistes of the 18th century. Eventually taking over the workshop after Oeben's death in 1763, and marrying his widow some four years later. He is renowned for completing the famous bureau du Roi...

Antique Swedish Gustavian Rococo Giltwood Wall Clock, Stockholm Circa:1900s

Located in Wembley, GB

Antique Swedish Gustavian Rococo Giltwood Wall Clock, Stockholm, Circa 1900 This exceptional antique Gustavian wall clock is a refined example of Swedish Rococo craftsmanship, dating to circa 1900 and retaining its original working mechanical movement. Hand-carved and richly gilded, this elegant wall clock embodies the restrained opulence and architectural balance that define Gustavian decorative arts, making it a timeless statement for curated interiors. The clock features a beautifully sculpted giltwood case, adorned with classical Rococo floral carvings, laurel swags, ribbon bows, and finely modelled ornamental details. The symmetrical composition is anchored by turned columns, a decorative shelf base, and a graceful ribbon crest, all finished in warm, luminous gold leaf that enhances both traditional and contemporary spaces. The circular dial, set within a beaded gilt surround, displays clear Arabic numerals and original hands, offering visual harmony and legibility. Below, the pendulum aperture and architectural elements add depth and sculptural presence, allowing the clock to function as both a decorative wall sculpture and a functional timepiece. Measuring approximately 54 cm in height, this piece is ideally scaled for use in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, libraries, dining rooms, stairwells, and refined interior settings. It works beautifully as a feature wall clock, a decorative focal point, or a collector’s object within classic, neoclassical, Scandinavian, Parisian, or eclectic interiors. Origin & Period Origin: Sweden, Stockholm Period: Circa 1900 Style: Gustavian / Rococo Revival This clock reflects Sweden’s late Gustavian tradition, where French Rococo influences were interpreted with Nordic restraint, symmetry, and elegance. Pieces of this quality were produced for refined domestic interiors and remain highly sought after by collectors of European decorative arts, antique clocks, and giltwood furnishings. Craftsmanship & Materials Hand-carved giltwood case Original mechanical movement (tested and working) Traditional gilding with rich patina Finely detailed floral, ribbon, and laurel motifs Each element demonstrates exceptional artisanal skill, with hand-carved details and proportional harmony typical of museum-quality Scandinavian decorative objects. 19th Century Neoclassical White Marble and Gilt Bronze Mantel Clock Set, circa 1860. 19th Century Neoclassical White Marble and Gilt Bronze Figurative Mantel Clock Set, circa 1860 A fine 19th Century French Neoclassical White Marble and Gilt Bronze Mantel Clock Set with its original and exceptional movement. Bears the makers mark, Finot a Versailles. The dial supporting a reclining bronze classical muse on a rectangular white Carrara marble base decorated by a row of gilt bronze beads, the set rests on four feet. The cross in the hand of the bronze muse can be removed (see photos). This 19th Century figurative clock is very decorative, interesting for its technicality of the dial and provenance. The bronze feminine muse and its shape has a perfect patina and is a remarkable conversational piece. The garniture set are a pair of fine neoclassical bronze vases with brown and golden patina that rest on white Carrara marble embellished with gilt bronze figural handles...

This beautiful sculpture has been carved from solid French oak during the latter half of the 19th century. The style is that of Black Forest, with realistic depictions of branches, leaves, grapes, and more. Originally a French clock, most of the timing mechanisms have long been removed. The elaborate carving depicts a man harvesting wine grapes on rocky terrain dotted with vegetation. Our gatherer, who is clad in an overcoat and large brimmed hat, is carrying a hod (hotte in French) full of freshly picked grapes. A large wooden bucket...
