Margit Wittig has used her sculptural skills to create beautifully-crafted, well-proportioned candlesticks, which are compositions of her unique signature pearl and block shaped designs. Each candlestick begins as hand-sculpted components which are used to create moulds in different sizes. These highly original, eye-catching candlesticks come in different sizes depending on the number of blocks. The candlesticks are cast in bio-resin with 30% recycled components and Jesmonite mixed with pigment at the start of the process, to ensure color consistency. Some of the candlesticks are subtly finished with hand painted gold patina to reflect the shimmer of the candle. A refined Wedgwood blue jasperware small dish, showcasing the iconic matte blue ground with crisp applied white neoclassical relief, one of Wedgwood’s most enduring and collectible designs. This dish features a softly scalloped rim with radiating fluted detail and a braided border of wheat, framing a central classical scene rendered in high relief. The central image depicts classical female figures accompanied by a winged cherub, drawn from Greco-Roman mythology and emblematic of Wedgwood’s close collaboration with John Flaxman in the late 18th century. These scenes were designed to evoke ideals of harmony, virtue, love, and beauty—core themes of the Neoclassical movement that defined Wedgwood’s artistic legacy. The reverse is impressed “WEDGWOOD / MADE IN ENGLAND”, confirming authentic English manufacture. The dish is finely proportioned and well-balanced, making it both decorative and functional. This piece works beautifully as a ring dish, trinket dish, or small catchall, and is an excellent example of classic Wedgwood jasperware craftsmanship. An Edwardian tortoiseshell and silver tea caddy by Martin, Hall & Co, dating to 1904, of compressed octagonal form with a gently domed lid surmounted by a substantial silver carrying handle. The exterior is extensively decorated with intricate silver ribbon work, scrolling foliate decoration and floral motifs across each panel, standing prominently against the rich tortoiseshell ground. The silver mounts are fully hallmarked sterling silver for Martin, Hall & Co of Sheffield with the date letter M for 1904. Opening the tea caddy reveals a fitted interior with a single lidded tea compartment designed for the storage of loose leaf tea. The compartment retains its original silver foil lining beneath the lid, complementing the silver mounted exterior and surviving well throughout.
