“Eye of the Pyramid” in Lucite by Bijan Bahar
“Eye of the Pyramid” in Lucite by Bijan Bahar

“Eye of the Pyramid” in Lucite by Bijan Bahar

By Bijan Bahar

Located in Palm Springs, CA

A monumental four-part sculpture that fits together to form a four-sided pyramid titled "Eye of the Pyramid" by the noted late artist Bijan Bahar. Mr Bahar sadly passed away a couple of years ago. We had the pleasure of getting to know him as he spent his last few years in Palm Springs. This was created in the late 1980s and is signed and numbered 5/6. It is in good age appropriate condition but has been recently re-polished. There are some minor marks from handling but nothing major. There is some cloudiness to the lucite from age. Note the bottom is sanded to a Frost finish by the artist. Each piece is signed and numbered. It was purchased directly from the artist and his team re-polished it. Please note that Bijan blunted the points of the tops for safety reasons when he created the sculpture. A bio af the artist follows: Museum Shows / Collections Some of Commissions / Collections Irvine Foundation, Los Angeles, CA Mr. R. Lichtenstein, Int. Riverside Museum of Art, Riverside, CA Mr. Ali Sobhani, CA Newport Harbor Art Museum, Newport Beach...

Happening Circle Platinum Ceramic Suspension Sculpture — Unique Work, 2024
Happening Circle Platinum Ceramic Suspension Sculpture — Unique Work, 2024

Happening Circle Platinum Ceramic Suspension Sculpture — Unique Work, 2024

By J Schatz Studio

Located in Warren, MI

This one-of-a-kind modern ceramic suspension sculpture is hand-built in high-fired stoneware in Detroit and produced as a unique work in 2024. Structured through repetition and vertical alignment, the composition explores reflection, gravity, and architectural rhythm. Happening Circle is composed of 66 individually formed stoneware elements, mirror-finished in platinum glaze and suspended from six stainless steel cables. Each cable supports eleven ceramic forms, creating a disciplined vertical column that reads as both sculptural field and spatial intervention. The platinum glaze produces a highly reflective surface that shifts with ambient light, oscillating between metallic density and luminous sheen. The repetition of form establishes visual cadence while maintaining structural clarity. The work is neither wall-bound nor floor-based — it occupies vertical space as suspended architecture. At six feet in height, Happening Circle asserts presence without massing outward. It defines volume through alignment and reflection rather than bulk. Handcrafted in Detroit using a proprietary platinum glazing process. Signed and stamped by J Schatz...

OTTO HEINTZ Art & Craft 1890 Fluted Vase Polished Brass & Sterling Silver Orchid

OTTO HEINTZ Art & Craft 1890 Fluted Vase Polished Brass & Sterling Silver Orchid

By Heintz Art Metal Shop, Otto Heintz

Located in Miami, FL

A fluted art & craft vase designed by Otto Heintz. This is a very decorative art & craft vase created during the art nouveau period by Otto Heintz. Crafted in America in solid polished brass and embellished with an orchid cut-off from a template made of .925/.999 solid sterling silver. Simple vase with great eye appeal and beautifully made with a very nice synthesis of an orchid. Otto Heintz Otto L. Heintz was born into a family of manufacturing jewelers established in 1875 in Buffalo, NY. By about 1902 he had purchased a small company, renamed it the Art Crafts Shop, and began design and manufacture of copper items with colored enamel decoration. He was granted three patents. By 1906 he changed the name to Heintz Art Metal Shop, and shifted to bronze as the base material and sterling silver as ornamentation. The Art Crafts Shop’s hammered “look” was replaced by a series of machine-shaped bodies with sophisticated patinas. The definitive patents for applying sterling silver to bronze without solder was granted August 27, 1912. Heintz line consisted of vases and bowls, candlesticks, smoking accessories, trophies, lamps, desk accessories, picture frames, bookends, and jewelry. From a circa 1916 trade catalog: “Heintz wares have won an enviable reputation among buyers of art goods, because of originality and beauty of design, and unusual quality of attractiveness. Country: New York, United States. Period: Art & Crafts, art nouveau, 1890-1900 Materials: Polished bronze and sterling silver. Weight: 475 Grams, (0.48 Kg.). Measurements: H. 222.25 mm by Diameter 120.65 mm (8.75 x 4.75 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the mark for the assay and warranty of the .925/.999 silver as follows: "STERLING". Condition: The overall condition of this Otto Heintz vase...
