Sana Vase Large by Tom Fereday
Located in Geneve, CH
Sana vase small by Tom Fereday Dimensions: D 12 x H 27.5 cm Materials: Solid Cast Quartz Glass Also available in clear frosted. The SANA collection is the first ever home wares collection developed by designer Tom Fereday and was conducted from a research-based approach into wellbeing within the domestic living space. Material research focused on natural materials which may be subtle yet retain a high perceived value. The resulting chosen material, solid cast quartz glass was selected for its high degree of optical transparency, natural variation in finish, thermal excellence and overall weight and quality. Tom Fereday develops products based on the principle of honest design, conveying a design process which celebrates the materials and manufacturing processes behind furniture and products, to design from the inside out. By using the materials and environment as a positive design constraint we guide intelligent and thoughtful design outcomes which connect with people through natural materials, tactile finishes and unique design. We strive to create enduring designs which are meaningful to people and their environment. Born in Australia, Tom Fereday grew up in England studying at the Wimbledon School of Art before moving to Sydney to complete an honours in Industrial Design at the University of Technology Sydney. Working across Europe and Australia Tom Fereday went onto found his sole practice in 2012. Monumental Signed Shunichi Inoue White and Rose Ash Glazed Vase 1978
By Shunichi Inoue
Located in Melbourne, AU
A wonderful example of the work of master Japanese potter, Shunichi Inoue. This vessel dates from his Australian residency. We love the potency of this very simple form - it has a powerful presence, connoting stillness, composure. For some reason it makes me think of the moon. It has the same still, calm, abiding presence. Shunichi Inoue studied ceramics at Kyoto City University of Arts 1969-75. He travelled to Australia to lecturer in ceramics at the Bendigo College of Advanced Education in Victoria, Australia where he stayed for three years. He returned to Australia in late 1984 as a visiting professor and again in 1993, when he made an extended stay. He was an active exhibitor and had an important influence on Australian pottery...

Purity - Ritual, Unique Vase by Alana Wilson
By Alana Wilson
Located in Geneve, CH
Unique vase by Alana Wilson Purity / 3017 (Ritual) Terracotta with porcelain slip, stoneware glazes, fusible metall alloy Measures: 39 x 20 x 20cm Alana Wilson's work explores both primitive and contemporary aesthetics and techniques in order to embrace elements of texture and a calm tonality. Her studio practice incorporates extensive research and experimental glazing to achieve textured and decaying surfaces. Specific ingredients are added to her glazes that encourage pitting, bubbling and a maturing of texture within the firing. Layers of slips and glazes are built up to be fired multiple times, each firing contributing to the decomposition of the surface. Technical glaze research and experimentation with firings are a consistent tool in developing colours and surfaces to help achieve a futuristic calmness and subtle strength in each body of work.
