Handblown Italian Midcentury Murano Glass Vase by Napoleone Martinuzzi & Venini

About the Item

Elegant, Italian Mid-century, hand blown Murano Amphora form, glass vase in the Modern Neoclassical style designed by Napoleone Martinuzzi for Venini, circa 1930. This rare piece has a pure form and lines and is executed in ice "pugeloso" glass. It is composed of white tinted glass with an irregular bubble formation in 'Pulegoso' surface. On each side there are vertically fused, strips of ribbed glass. The vase is unmarked. Provenance: Phillips, New York, 2004. Sotheby's, New York, 1992.
