Each glass features a sleek, tapered silhouette, expertly crafted to balance both beauty and functionality. The highlight of the design is the gilded rim, applied with Thorpe’s signature delicate precision, lending the glasses a touch of glamour and luxury without overpowering their clean, modern lines. The subtle glimmer of gold contrasts beautifully against the crystal-clear glass, making these glasses versatile enough for casual gatherings or formal occasions alike. Designed during the height of the Mid-Century Modern era, these wine glasses are not only exquisite examples of Thorpe's designs but also reflections of the stylish cocktail culture that defined the period. Description: Wide Frosted, Silver And Gold Bands Pattern: Regency by Culver Status: Discontinued. Culver Glass Company – Lavish and Opulent Cocktail ware of the 1950s – 1960s Culver Ltd was a glass company famous for their stunning decorative glassware in 22-karat gold. Culver Ltd was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1939 by Irving Rothenberg. Culver Glass features real 22-karat gold decoration used effusively and magnificently especially from the late 1950’s on through the 1960’s. The company gained notoriety and its products became highly collectible and only sold at high-end department stores. In 1980, the company moved to downtown Rahway, New Jersey. Irving Rothenberg passed away in 1987 and his son, Mark ‘Mickey’ Rothenberg, continued the Culver Glass Company. Mickey ran the company until he sold Culver Ltd. in 1996 to Moderne Glass Company, Inc. Mickey Rothenberg continued in the glass manufacturing business by running another glass company until his death on 9/11. He was one of the passengers on the hijacked Newark-to-San-Francisco flight that crashed in Pennsylvania. The company’s early production line featured acid etch, decalcomania, sandblasted, hand-painted, banded, sand-cut monogramming and silk screen. In the late 1950’s, Culver Ltd started the application of the 22-karat gold to their glassware. The super-heated, roll-on process of gold remains a secret today. By the 1980’s, Culver stopped making its own glass and began using glassware...

F.B. Rogers Silver Co. Lidded Silverplate Ice Bucket with Milk Glass Liner

F.B. Rogers Silver Co. Lidded Silverplate Ice Bucket with Milk Glass Liner

By F.B. Rogers Silver Co.

Located in Oklahoma City, OK

This elegant lidded ice bucket was produced by the esteemed F.B. Rogers Silver Company, a respected American silver manufacturer founded in 1883. The piece features a classic silver-plated exterior with restrained neoclassical lines, scroll-form side handles, and a domed lid topped with a sculptural acorn finial. Inside, the bucket retains its original milk glass liner, designed to insulate ice while protecting the silverplate from moisture—an increasingly rare and highly desirable feature. The base is stamped “F.B. Rogers Silver Co.” along with a crown emblem and the date 1883, which references the company’s founding year, not the production date. The number 6599 or 8599 is a model or pattern number, used internally by the manufacturer. This stamp confirms the piece is silverplate (not sterling) and authentic to F.B. Rogers’ mid-20th-century production, when the firm was especially known for refined barware and entertaining pieces. With its substantial weight, timeless silhouette, and practical liner, this ice bucket bridges function and decorative appeal, making it ideal for both use and display. Maker & Markings Maker: F.B. Rogers Silver Company (USA) Founded: 1883 Stamp Meaning: “1883” = company founding date Crown mark = F.B. Rogers trademark 6599 or 8599 = model/pattern number Material: Silverplate over metal with original milk glass liner Origin: United States Period: Mid-20th century Materials & Construction Exterior: Silverplate with polished finish Interior: Thick white milk glass insert Details: Cast scroll handles, domed lid, decorative acorn finial Base: Raised circular foot for stability and elegance Styling Ideas: Style on a bar cart or cocktail console with crystal decanters. Use as a functional ice bucket for entertaining or champagne service. Display on open shelving in a library, dining room, or butler’s pantry. Beautiful layered into traditional, English country, Hollywood Regency, or old-money interiors. Works equally well styled empty as a sculptural silver accent. This piece pairs beautifully with cut crystal, vintage bar tools...
