About the Item

A fine antique silver ice cream slice or server. Made by John Wendt and retailed by J.E. Caldwell of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With brite cut floral decoration to the bowl and a ram's head to the handle. Monogrammed just beneath the ram's head with what appears to be J.W.W. Simply a wonderful 19th century silver server! Date: 19th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. There is some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: John Wendt for J.E. Caldwell & Co. Pattern Name: Ram's Head Marks: Marked to the reverse of the handle for J.E. Caldwell & Co. / PATENT / 325. Measurements: Length: ca. 9 3/8 in. Width: ca. 3 in. Height: ca. 1 3/4 in.
