An exceptional, fine and impressive set of three antique Georgian English sterling silver dinner plates/second course dishes, an addition to our range of collectable dining silverware. These exceptional antique George II sterling silver dinner plates/second course dishes has a circular shaped form. The raised border is embellished with an impressive bright cut engraved marital coat of arms incorporating the motto 'Tria juncta in uno', three joined in one. The rim of each antique second course dish is encircled with a Fine and impressive applied gadroon decorated border accented with alternating scrolling leaf designs. The circular well of each plate is plain and unembellished. The underside of each plate retains the silversmith's center punch mark in addition to the original item numbers 9, 10 and 12 and the original scratch weight of 32 troy ounces and 4 pennyweights (32.2 troy ounces), as to be expected the measured weight has subtly diminished in keeping with age to 29.9 troy ounces. Larger second course dishes such as these are becoming increasingly difficult to locate. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver mustard pot has a plain cylindrical form. The body of the mustard pot is embellished with pierced interlacing scrolling leaf designs. The upper and lower rim of this sterling mustard pot is ornamented with an applied bead decorated border. This fine mustard pot retains the original hallmarked hinged domed cover surmounted with an impressive interlacing tri-lobed thumbpiece. This antique piece is fitted with an opposing scroll handle ornamented with a plain scrolling thumbpiece. The mustard pot retains the original removable blue glass liner. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the body and part hallmarks to the interior of cover are all very clear; the maker's mark to the interior of the cover have wear in keeping with age.
