An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver and mother of pearl fruit/dessert cutlery set for eighteen persons - boxed; an addition to our dining silverware collection. This magnificent, fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver and mother of pearl dessert service consists of eighteen knives and eighteen forks. The blades of the Victorian knives have a rounded form and the forks each have four tines/prongs. The surface of each knife blade and drop of each fork is embellished with an impressive contemporary bright cut engraved crest of on a mural crown with a heron's head erased. Each piece of this antique silver dessert service is fitted with the original and impressive, large tapering mother of pearl handle. The knives and forks retain the original sterling silver ferrules ornamented with embossed leaf ornamentation. Each mother of pearl knife and fork is fitted to the fine and impressive original hinged rose wood canteen box with a lift up lid and two lift out trays. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver altar cruet set; an addition to our collectable teaware collection This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver mass/altercruet set consists of two jugs on a matching tray. The water jug and wine jug have a circular rounded form onto a spreading pedestal foot. The rounded body of each parcel gilt piece is encompassed with engraved undulating lines, flanked with two plain applied girdles, to stylised leaf decorated borders. Each subtly tapering neck is encircled with a further plain girdle with a further stylised leaf decorated gilded border to the upper rim. Each piece is fitted with the original hallmarked domed hinged cover surmounted with an impressive sterling silver quatrefoil shaped finial; the finials bear the stylised letter G to one and A to the other. The cover of each Victorian silver jug incorporates a plain trefid shaped thumbpiece. The water and wine jugs are fitted with impressive S scroll handles. Each jug has a plain sparrow beak spout ornamented with applied moulded decoration to the rim. This exceptional alter cruet set sits to the original and impressive navette shaped tray. The surface of this fine tray is embellished with parcel gilt floral rosettes encompassing protruding cylindrical pegs; these allow the jugs to sit securely in situ. The surface is further ornamented with incurved parcel gilt foliate designs, paralleling the aforementioned rosettes, in addition to a contemporary bright cut engraved crest* of a demi-lion rampant gardant holding between the paws a garb. The tray bears a plain tapering border, accented with a band of plain applied decoration to the rim. This impressive antique Victorian sterling silver teapot has a circular rounded, panelled form. The impressive panelled body is embellished with bright cut engraved floral sprays, alternating with large scrolling leaf designs. The decoration to the body incorporates two scrolling leaf bordered vacant cartouches. This large Victorian teapot is fitted with a flush hinged hallmarked cover, ornamented with a continuation of the aforementioned bright cut engraved decoration; the flush hinge indicates the high quality of the piece.
