An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver four-piece tea and coffee service, an addition to our silver teaware collection This exceptional, antique Edwardian four piece sterling silver tea and coffee service consists of a coffee pot, teapot, cream jug and sugar basket. Each piece of this fine Chester silver tea set has an oval rounded form, all in the Queen Anne style. The body of each piece is ornamented with panels of fluted decoration, incorporating a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a wolf chained and collared to one side. The upper rim of each piece is ornamented with an applied moulded border. Both the coffee pot and teapot are fitted with hinged hallmarked domed covers surmounted by the original carved painted wood and sterling silver topped pineapple finials. The silver teapot and coffee pot retain the original carved painted wood handles, featuring a plain scrolling thumbpiece. The cream jug is fitted with an elongated C shaped silver handle and the sugar basket a swing handle, each ornamented with reed decoration. The silver coffee pot, cream jug and sugar basket are each supported by a plain and unembellished oval pedestal foot. This fine antique Victorian sterling silver three-piece tea service consists of a teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug / creamer. Each piece has a plain circular compressed form onto a plain circular collet foot. The lower portion of each item is embellished with embossed fluted decoration in the Queen Anne style. The surface of the upper portion of each piece is plain with an impressive applied gadroon decorated border to the waisted flared rim. The teapot is fitted with a flush hinged domed hallmarked cover, which also features fluted decoration; the flush hinge indicates the Fine quality of this service.
