Elegant French Art Deco table lamp, made circa 1925 and combining a sculptural wrought-iron base with a refined alabaster shade. The design is built around a sophisticated contrast of materials. The dark, graphic wrought iron gives the lamp structure and visual strength, while the natural alabaster softly diffuses the light and brings warmth to the composition. This combination is highly characteristic of French decorative lighting from the 1920s, when metalwork and translucent stone were frequently paired to create both functional and highly decorative objects.
