With early 20th century light fixtures being one of our specialities, we always love finding unique pendants. This particular work of beauty comes with a very attractive and superb condition alabaster shade that rings like a bell when you strike (that is how structurally sound it is). This good size mineral stone light fixture also comes with the original gilt bronze hinging chain and canopy + a number of beautiful strings / bunches of multi color, art glass, grape like beads. These grape bunches too are in excellent condition.
You can also easily remove the 3 glass strings to switch styles (see pictures 5, 11, 12, 15 and 19). This fixture makes the perfect pendant or small chandelier for an apartment as well. Thanks to the hook inside the canopy it also is easy to mount to the hook coming from your ceiling / junction box. We have said it before and we'll say it again...

Thanks to its good size, its unique handcarved design and good condition this alabaster chandelier too will light up both your days and evenings. What makes this particular alabaster plafonnier stand out from those that we have seen and sold over the years, are the stylish and all-handcarved grape bunches and grape leafs that are carved all around the high side. For this unique light to still be in this condition after more than 100 years is not only an ode to the craftsmanship with which this light was handmade, it also shows how former owners have taken great care. We could shoot many more photos, but you still would not be able to see the true beauty of this shade and you could still not get a good idea of the tranquil beauty and class that this chandelier radiates. In real life (or in person) our antiques always have that little bit more and this stunning pendant is no exception. You are going to (again) have to take our word for it. Have you also noticed the rare, layered bronze elements at the suspension points?
