Set of Six Original Maison Balmain Gouaches from the 1970-1980 Collection
Located in Washington, DC
Vintage set one-of-a-kind haute couture gouache fashion sketches by the Parisian Balmain Fashion House circa 1970. Fashion Designer Bio: Perre Alexandre Claudius Balmain (1914-1982) was a well-known designer from France and the founder of Balmain fashion house. He was and still is known for his elegance and sophistication. Balmain studied architecture at the École des Beaux-Arts, but he spent most of his time designing apparel. From 1934-1939 Balmain worked with Edward Molyneux (fashion designer) who offered him a trial. Balmain then worked after the War with Lucien Lelong and established his own fashion house that displayed bell-shaped and small waist skirts. This was a look that became famous later on through the brand Christian Dior. A family friend, Gertrude Stein wrote a commemorative piece on Balmain for Vogue magazine and following this an order was placed by the Duchess of Windsor. By 1951, Balmain opened various branches of his label across America to sell his prêt-a-porter collections. During this time, he popularized some unique trends such as stoles, evening wear and he made sheath dresses with jackets a fad in the fashion market. He was talented in creating both simple and extravagant clothes, all with the similar aesthetics of graceful and slender lines. Pierre Balmain also created fragrances. For his astounding creations and designs, he was nominated for Best Costume Designer by the Tony Award and Balmain received the Drama Desk Award for designing outstanding costumes for Happy New Year Broadway production in 1980. He designed costumes for Sophia Loren for The Millionaires, 1960 and Josephine Baker for her eponymous revue, 1964. He designed costumes for sixteen films and designed clothes for actresses Mae West and Vivien Leigh. His classic couture dresses are still chic and sought after among international movie stars and socialites such as Kristin Davis...

DCT Mirror
Located in Beirute, LB
DCT Mirror -- The Future Of A Past Memory — explores living in a world where reality hinges on the surreal. This unexpected synthesis of contrasts— the alternating of color, size, shape, and position— nods toward a multitude of binaries. Here, opposites not only attract but work in concert, challenging the singular identity of everyday objects and spaces. Our pieces juxtapose Middle Eastern heritage and the craftsmanship of Damascene inlay with contemporary, young influence by creating new ways of reappropriating the traditional. Amongst a playful collision of materials, patterns and colors, of repetition and exploration -- weaving between traditional and contemporary. Damascene mother of pearl inlaid mirror handmade and hand carved with floral geometric designs. The crown over the frame is detachable. ARE’s mirror captures a moment freezing a digital frame, manipulating stability. Though a 'glitch' is temporary, here, it is transformed into a living art piece that lasts. It is one amongst 15 mirrors...

PH Grand Piano PH170 Curated, Mineral Leather, White Oak and Burned Brass
Located in Copenhagen, DK
- All prices are listed ex works. - 5-year guarantee. - We regularly crate, ship, and install PH Pianos worldwide with full insurance. This spectacular PH Grand Piano Curated Edition is the first of its kind. It has been created in collaboration with Stevns Klint Experience, a UNESCO heritage site located an hour away from Copenhagen, Denmark. The materials and finishes of this piano have been completely customized to represent key elements of the Stevns Klint Experience geography. From the leather banding, to the type and finish of the wood, to the metal trimming on the case, this piano is very special. More than Just a Piano- Finishes with Symbolism The mineral-colored leather banding of this piano represents the Fish Clay found in the chalk cliffs of Stevns Klint. Fish Clay is the layer of gray clay which contains meteorite particulate, and is scientific proof of the collision 55 million years ago of a meteor with Earth, that ended almost all life including the dinosaurs. Hand-carved beautiful ash-wood frames the delicate and elegant transparent lid, and all metal trim has been done in a semi-matte oxidized brass finish called Burned Brass. All materials and finishes combine to create an extremely elegant, aesthetically stunning-yet approachable- piano. Stevns Klint Experience has provided four fossils from the site which have been set into the frame of the piano, making this instrument a true collector’s piece. Original Design, Unique Customization Designed by Poul Henningsen in 1930, the PH Grand Piano is an iconic design from Denmark that has captured the attention of art collectors everywhere. As a Curated Edition, this instrument is the first of its kind to use a piano action...

21st Century Birch Wood Coffee Table with Glass Table-top, Artists Proof edition
Located in London, GB
Duffy casts an eye downwards – with a captivating modern coffee table design. A deep, turquoise-blue Abyss appears to float effortlessly above free space. This is one of two, unique artist-proof edition pieces available, handmade in the Duffy London studio in East London and complete with etched signature plate from Christopher Duffy. A study of depth and our perception of it, the Abyss Horizon makes use of the interplay between light and layers of the natural Birchwood coloration / marble and sculpted blue glass to forge a mesmerising three-dimensional canvas – reminiscent of our own perception of water, and how we observe its color transform at different depths The perceived change in color, becomes the element that gives true meaning to the piece, conjuring up ideas of a great oceanic topography, and transforming the flowing design into an expressive object. For the 2023 edition, three curved legs support a dramatic, contoured base section that appears to collapse downwards into the floor. The physical space around the edges of the table focuses the senses to enhance our view of a great, floating Abyss, with a colossal sinkhole at its centre. The Abyss is one of Duffy's most acclaimed statement furniture works - a limited edition, collectible design piece. The first ever edition of the Abyss table...

Photorealist Artwork of French Farmhouse Kitchen in Custom Whitewash Frame
Located in Fort Lauderdale, FL
Photorealism digital print artwork from salvaged wallpaper by La Maison Pierre Frey called "Ouefs A La Coque", which translates to "Boiled Eggs". The subject matter is focused on the magnificent open cupboard of a French country farmhouse kitchen, featuring an array of cups and saucers, stacked plates, serving dishes, and baking molds, adorned with occasional fresh meringue and a few hard boiled eggs. Framed in a custom hand-painted wood frame with an antique whitewash...
