Alejandro Aróstegui “Cráter Chatarra” Mixed-Media Still Life, 1979

Alejandro Aróstegui “Cráter Chatarra” Mixed-Media Still Life, 1979

Located in West Palm Beach, FL

Alejandro Aróstegui “Cráter Chatarra” Mixed-Media Still Life, 1979 A monumental mixed-media still life on wood by important Nicaraguan modernist Alejandro Aróstegui, titled Cráter Chatarra, or Scrap-Metal Crater. Signed and dated “A. Aróstegui 79” at the upper left, the work retains its original Galería Tagüe label from Managua, Nicaragua. Aróstegui isolates a single piece of crushed industrial refuse against a nearly black, atmospheric background. The central object remains deliberately ambiguous: it resembles a flattened metal container or commercial satchel, while its broad central seam and divided lower sections also suggest a pair of empty breeches or trousers. Its buckled upper edge folds inward to form the dark concavity identified in the title as a crater. Red striping and the partial black letter “P” survive across the distressed surface, indicating that the source material—or the object represented—may once have been part of a painted sign, branded sack, industrial container...

Untitled LV Stainless Steel Coffee Table by Pietro Franceschini
Untitled LV Stainless Steel Coffee Table by Pietro Franceschini

Untitled LV Stainless Steel Coffee Table by Pietro Franceschini

Located in Geneve, CH

Untitled LV Stainless Steel Coffee Table by Pietro Franceschini Materials: Stainless Steel Dimensions: W 170 x D 26 x H 30 cm A stark expression of controlled tension, this collectible coffee table asserts its presence with uncompromising minimalism. Forged in satin stainless steel, the long, low form is shaped by a few deliberate cuts - primitive yet precise. The result is a monolithic object that sits somewhere between rationalist sculpture and brutalist furniture, resisting decoration and embracing raw gesture. Simultaneously elegant and severe, it reflects Franceschini’s inquiry into emotional architecture: objects as vessels for quiet intensity. A work of pure volume and restrained violence, Untitled is both furniture and totem - designed to provoke, not merely to serve. Pietro Franceschini Architect // Designer An architect and designer based in Milan, Franceschini founded PF Studio, an interior and furniture design practice in 2020. He applies a contemporary design vocabulary to a classical Italian sensibility. Irreverent and emotionally impactful, Franceschini’s furniture reflects his desire to combine playful energy within sophisticated, timeless elements. A resolutely twenty-first century designer, he imbues his work with questions about reality, functionality and digital illusion. After receiving architecture degrees from Università degli Studi di Firenze and from Pratt Institute, Franceschini has collaborated with Leeser Architecture in Brooklyn, Claudio Nardi in Florence, Laisne Roussel in Paris and Carlo Ratti Associati in New York. PF’s work has been exhibited internationally with Galerie Philia, The Invisibile Collection, Studio 27...
