This vibrant cushion will add verve to your living room or bedroom, it sits beautifully alone or alongside one of our other Kente cushions Description of the woven kente cushion Diamond The Kente textile patterns of the Ewe people of Eastern Ghana are both traditional and Contemporary. We have creatively revisited these graphic motifs in fresh colours and clean repetition. Designed by Sara Efia Reddin and woven by Master weavers in the Volta region of Ghana, this cotton cushion is a wonderful touch of graphic artisanat. Technics used to make the kente cushion Diamond Kente weaving is a a traditional African weaving technic from Ghana. The weaving is perfectly tight and smooth and consist of elaborate geometric patterns repeated on fine strips of fabric. Woven on a traditional loom in strips of around 15cm. The strips are then sewn together to create a beautiful patchwork cloth. The cushions are made by a local seamstress. This cushion takes around 3 days to weave. Why choose this cushion … ? Our Kente cushions are not only beautiful, they are also very resistant and of a very high quality only found when making things by hand. Woven with the grass Veta Vera, which is naturally durable. This medium size pendant lamp in natural colours finds it’s place above a dining table, in hallway or bedroom. It also makes a fun element in a Children´s bedroom. This pendant light is perfect alone or accumulated with other lamps in the Night & Day collection. Technics used to make the HATTER + LANTERN pendant lamp Basket weaving from Bolgatanga is a a traditional African weaving technic. The grass Veta Vera grows locally. The reeds are twisted by hand and small batches are coloured using vegetable dyes in cauldrons. The weaving is tight and smooth. Our lamps are woven by an association of weavers, these weavers have honed their art to make our contemporary shapes. This lamp takes 3 - 4 days to weave Why choose this pendant lamp… ?
