Each chair features a wide, gently rounded backrest that flows into two vertical back supports, creating an instantly recognisable silhouette. The carved seat, with its subtly modelled edges, enhances comfort while maintaining a clean and minimal aesthetic. The solid pine construction shows beautiful grain patterns, natural knots and a deep, hand-applied patinated finish that has developed a rich, warm tone over the years. The design and the look and feel of this rare chair reminded me of what someone once taught me about good sculptures, "they look great from all angles". And what is particularly important for a chair, that it is very comfortable to sit in as well. Which it is. In this world people have very different thoughts about IKEA furniture and they are all right.
