Sun lamp in white, gold and tan enameled ceramic, sculptural floor or table lamp bringing to your space an amazing light experience when the night falls, and a stunning sculptural presence during the day. Approximate dimensions: Height 80 cm x diameter 75 cm. Signed on the base by the artist, delivered with a “Certificate of Authenticity”. Georges Pelletier (1938) is a great contemporary artist exploring the fields of ceramics and lighting, since the 1950s. Born in Brusels in 1938. At the tender age of 12 he enrolls in the École du Pioulier, founded by Célestin Freinet and located in Vence in the South of France. Here he learns free and modern art and discovers drawing and ceramics. During this period Pelletier starts showing solidarity and relief based on the principle of equality. This formation lends him a unique artistic identity. Georges Pelletier arrives to Paris in 1953 and continues with his drawing studies at l’Académie Charpentier meanwhile he still frequents Fernand Léger’s workshop. He enrolls the school of Métiers d’Art in 1955. Pelletier deepens into the world of ceramics during his time at Claude Pantzer’s workshop and the Potiers d’Accolay where he meets Raphael Giarusso...

A large reclaimed antique copper planter with a beautifully weathered surface and strong decorative presence. Circular in form and originally used as a wash tank, it has developed a rich patina with warm copper tones and areas of verdigris that give the piece depth and softness. The planter retains a visible historic patch repair and embossed gallon markings to the interior, both of which add to its character. It is not watertight, so if used indoors it should be paired with a secondary plant saucer or liner. Designer highlights • Large circular form with strong sculptural presence, lightweight yet sturdy with a folded top lip • Reclaimed antique copper with naturally developed patina • Originally a wash tank, with embossed gallon markings to the interior • Visible patch repair as part of its history • Suitable for decorative use outdoors or indoors (with appropriate liner) Finish & patina The copper surface shows a natural mix of warm brown, russet and soft green verdigris. Marking, tonal variation and the visible repair are all consistent with age and use, and form part of the planter’s naturally textured appeal. Placement A versatile decorative piece with enough presence to work in a range of interior or exterior settings. Design compatibility Its aged copper surface and simple circular form allow it to work equally well in traditional settings and more pared-back contemporary interiors, where antique patina can bring depth, warmth and contrast. It also sits naturally alongside timber, stone, brick and terracotta. Vintage Traditional Batuan Gambuh Painting by Sudana of Batuan, Bali. A large sumptuous narrative painting in shaded colors on a framed and stretched canvas rendering a composite of scenes of figures in preparation for a Gambuh Balinese dance drama. The female dance figures have floral headdresses and are preparing with makeup and costuming with sarong clad men as attendants. A box in the foreground contains a Keris and a dance mask for the character Arya, a principle role in the Gambuh performance. The background includes an architectural overhang, a bedroom and temple grounds with other maidens in attendance. Often the Gambuh is performed as part of wedding festivities. The canvas is stretched on a wood frame and further framed by a Western style black lacquered wood frame with a beige silk covered mat. Framing by Valley Arts, Palm Desert, CA.
