An early 20th century Anatolian terracotta oil jar from Western Turkey, hand-thrown and heavily fired, now converted into a sculptural table lamp. This vessel was used for storing olive oil or water, with its rounded body and narrowing base designed for practical, everyday use. The surface is defined by dense firing and natural pitting, with small cratered marks and irregular texture formed through direct exposure to flame in the kiln. Darkened areas sit against warmer terracotta tones, creating a layered surface with depth and variation. The patina has built gradually over time, giving the piece a more textured, almost granular quality compared to smoother examples.
