Primitive Furniture

A large empire lampshade handmade in a natural linen-blend fabric. Defined by its wide tapered silhouette and clean lines, the shade balances larger lamp bases while allowing the form beneath to remain visible. The natural linen fabric softens and diffuses light, creating a warm glow that works particularly well with terracotta, ceramic and antique lamp bases. The neutral tone allows it to sit comfortably within English country interiors, Mediterranean spaces, farmhouse settings and more contemporary schemes. Its generous proportions make it especially suited to oversized table lamps and statement ceramic vessels, where smaller shades can feel under-scaled. The tapered empire profile offers a more traditional and architectural appearance than a drum shade, creating a balanced silhouette while maintaining a light visual presence.
