This is a truly grand and powerful piece. A large, heavy Baroque-style dining table, built in the early 1900s, likely around the 1930s–1940s. It’s made entirely from solid oak – not just any oak, but oak that has been laid in a bog to develop a patina that mimics the depth and character of 300-year-old timber. The result is an incredible surface texture, rich with age and soul. The table has always belonged to the same family and has been carefully preserved over the years. The tabletop (3.5cm - 1.38inches) rests freely on the base, but due to its sheer weight, it sits firm and solid – you could literally dance on it. This charming 17th Century massive scale rectangular refectory table, dating back to Baroque period, is a magnificent example of Tuscan rustic craftsmanship. The top consists of four large solid warm brow walnut planks capped on either end with matching pieces of walnut wood slabs. The 3 meters long and 1 meter wide tabletop rests on a trestle base composed of six massive turned baluster legs joined by a simple molded stretcher running the distance on either side making the seat even more comfortable. The simple and clean line of the top is wonderfully harmonized by the roundness of the legs, all with exceptional wood grain and texture and rich, warm great original patina throughout. In typical Tuscan fashion, this farm table is long and narrow, featuring a very rustic but clever construction: two wooden pegs and thick joints on each side allow the top to easily separate from the base for easy transportation. This is "The Table" solid and sturdy a wonderful and warm piece, rich in history and rare. The four plank cleated detachable top is of superb color and figuring. This versatile antique refectory table can be used as a hall, dining or serving table. Big Marble Table Inlaid Top, Carved Wooden Base Handcrafted in Italy by Cupioli . Angelica octagonal table represents one of the Cupioli masterpieces. The imposing dimension of the top cm. 210 x 210 and the wealth of 3 prestigious marbles as pure white, royal yellow and green guatemala are a perfect background for such an important pattern. The edge of the top is obtained assembling two kind of marbles with an important thickness of 6 cm. The peculiarity of this inlay plays on the negative and positive of the figures, in particularity in the allegorical ones in the water. The design of this 19th century style table focuses on the union of four coat-of-arms, supported by cherubs who in turn hold friezes, volutes and festoons, ending with support from eight sirens. These last are, in turn, a frame for the marine scenes which are intertwined with medallions representing shells. All the decoration is connected by two major twisted framework , making so an elegant design. The surface of this prestigious top is polished using the special pale for French polish, that gives a warm effect to all scagliola polychrome tonalities. History: This magnificent table was specially designed to be placed in the entrance of the famous Grand Hotel in Rimini, where the great director Federico Fellini loved to stay and that he considered his second home. For this reason when, with the commander Arpesella, at the time owner of the Grand Hotel, we spoke of the decoration for this important table, Fellini gave us fundamental suggestions in the composition of the table decoration, which has been on display in the Grand Hotel Hall for about 15 years representing our manufacture of Artistic craftsmanship.
