The enamelled pieces of the first period are often monochrome with a dynamic volume, almost 'aerodynamic', inspired by life. Around 1955, his meeting with the painter Jean Rustin (1928-2013) allowed him to define the very personal and identifying style of his production: the sacrificial decoration is done by hand and the use of metallic oxides before enameling brings to the background the cloudy or stony effect.
