Mid-Century Modern Teak Dining Table, Two Leaves And Four Chairs
Located in New Orleans, LA
An outstanding Mid-Century Modern round extension, teak wood dining table with two arm chairs, two side chairs, two leaves and the original table pad, dated 1971. The table is beveled under the edge and has wooden slides to accept the leaves. With the two leaves the table could seat six comfortably. The chairs are tight, sturdy and have a lovely Danish Modern design with removable backs and seats to have re-upholstered easily. The existing fabric is not original but a later re-upholstery (over the original fabric) in acceptable condition. The teak graining and color is exceptional with very little wear considering the age (and the fact that a table pad was used). The custom table pad is in four pieces, two folding half circles, and two folding leaf pads that all hook together to keep it in place when in use. This is a beautiful example of the Mid-Century Modern period, a piece of American history to enjoy and cherish today and for future generations. It reminds me of the late sixties, early seventies series, “The Brady Bunch...
