1970s Jeff Cross Harmony Hollow Cast Bronze Brutalist - Soleri Style - Wind Bell

By Paolo Soleri

Located in St. Louis, MO

An exceptional and highly collectible vintage Southwestern studio-art wind bell, designed by artist Jeff Cross (d. 1977) for his legendary workshop, Harmony Hollow Bell Works, circa early 1970s. Hand-cast during the studio's foundational years in Arizona, this piece heavily channels the desert modernism and brutalist architectural form popularized by legendary architect and artist Paolo Soleri. The bell features a beautifully weighted, hand-cast bronze cap displaying a spectacular, naturally aged emerald verdigris patina that highlights its rich surface texture. Suspended from a beautifully sculpted, heavy double-curved cast bronze S-hook hanger, the bell's internal clapper terminates in a hand-cut, organically shaped sheet copper sail. Signed HH & BW bell works. A wonderful example of mid-century American studio metalwork, this bell produces a deep, resonant, and remarkably pure musical tone when caught by the wind. Offered in excellent vintage condition with an incredibly rich, completely uncleaned original patina and fully intact, structurally sound chain linkage. Jeff Cross founded Harmony Hollow Bell Works and began making his cast-bronze bells in 1969 in Arizona. Taught by his father—a metallurgist who managed foundries during World War II—Jeff was able to realize his dream of becoming a master bell-maker and creating high-quality bronze designs, running the studio until his passing in 1977. Jeff Cross bronze bell, Harmony Hollow wind chime, Paolo Soleri style bell, Arcosanti wind bell...

Vintage 1980s Swatch Maxi Giant Oversized Pop Art Wall Clock - Memphis Design

By Swatch

Located in St. Louis, MO

This iconic, colossal 1980s Swatch "Maxi" giant wall clock is the ultimate artifact of late 20th-century pop art culture and Memphis-style postmodern design. Originally engineered as high-impact promotional storefront displays for Swatch boutiques before becoming a holy grail for collectors, this functional giant wall clock measures an impressive 82 inches (nearly 7 feet) in length. As vibrantly documented in photos, this specific model features a quintessential '80s New Wave colorway, pairing a bold bubblegum pink strap with a rich teal-green watch head and bezel. The clock face showcases a minimalist, pixelated pink and mint-green geometric block design with stark white hands, completely capturing the digital-age aesthetic of the era. Crafted in Switzerland out of durable molded matte polymer, the clock cleverly replicates every charming detail of a classic wrist-worn Swatch watch blown up to a monumental scale—complete with the signature ribbed strap, traditional buckle, and sizing holes. The clock is fully operational, running on a reliable quartz movement that transforms a massive wall space into a bold, nostalgic conversation piece. Perfect for an eclectic living room, a design studio, or a retro-inspired lounge, this rare working Maxi Swatch...

Paolo Soleri Cosanti Studio Bronze Architectural Wind Chime Bell (23.25" H)

Paolo Soleri Cosanti Studio Bronze Architectural Wind Chime Bell (23.25" H)

By Paolo Soleri

Located in St. Louis, MO

A striking 23.25-inch cast bronze sculptural wind bell designed by visionary Italian-born architect, urban planner, and artist Paolo Soleri (1919–2013). Handcrafted at his celebrated Cosanti studio in Paradise Valley, Arizona, this mid-century architectural bell showcases an outstanding naturally weathered verdigris patina. Cast using Soleri’s signature earth-casting metal technique, the bell features geometric Brutalist relief motifs along the main sound chamber, suspended from an articulated sculptural top link and finished below with a folded geometric copper wind-sail fin. Features the official cast Cosanti studio monogram / cipher on the side of the bell chamber. A rare, out-of-production vintage casting featuring iconic Soleri design language that bridges functional art and kinetic sculpture. Paolo Soleri (1919-2013), the founder of Cosanti and Arcosanti, was an important artist, architecture, philosopher and urban planner. The Italian architect studied with Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin West in Arizona, and at Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin. He would make his home and studio, Cosanti, near Taliesin West. Rare 1970s Vintage Howard Miller MCM Floating Lucite Wall Clock - Roman Numerals

Rare 1970s Vintage Howard Miller MCM Floating Lucite Wall Clock - Roman Numerals

By Howard Miller, George Nelson

Located in St. Louis, MO

This exceptionally rare vintage wall clock by the celebrated Howard Miller Clock Company is a phenomenal example of high-end Postmodern design. The clock features a unique, minimalist frame composed of a heavy-gauge clear Lucite (acrylic) C-shaped band. This outer ring is intentionally separated at the top and bottom, creating a striking architectural gap that frames the piece. Suspended inside the clear casing by small pins is an elegant, translucent inner dial fashioned from premium peach/copper-tinted acrylic. Rather than sitting on a surface, the clock is engineered to hang directly from its central black quartz movement housing, allowing the open Lucite frame to float weightlessly against the wall. In a bold design twist, the dial is printed with oversized, crisp white Roman numerals that appear to float mid-air, paired with sleek white hour and minute hands and a vibrant red sweeping second hand. Driven by a precision battery-operated quartz movement, this sculptural timekeeper beautifully bridges the gap between Space Age materials and 1980s Postmodern aesthetics. Can't find another example out there. Manufacturer: Howard Miller Clock Company (Zeeland, Michigan, USA) Designer Attribution: While many collectors automatically look for George Nelson when they see vintage Howard Miller lucite...

Pair of T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings for Widdicomb Rarely Seen Petite Slipper Chairs

By Widdicomb Furniture Co., T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings

Located in St. Louis, MO

A pair of very elegant 1950s T.H. Robsjohn–Gibbings model 2009 slipper chairs for Widdicomb, with classic sculpted walnut frames on splayed legs. This version of his slipper chairs, is far less seen on the market as his larger version WMB model. The frames will be refinished, prior to shipping. Upholstery needs to be replaced, email for quote. To me it appears , when re-upholstered, they got a little overstuffed in the backs and seats. No labels, but from an estate with other Gibbings / Widdicomb pieces. John O'Hara, The xxxxxxx Best, 3-Color Serigraph

By John O'Hara

Located in SAINT LOUIS, MO

John O'Hara's famous The xxxxxxx Best painting is now a 3-Color Serigraph on recycled Archival Hemp Paper. Hand signed by the artist. This work is unframed. 27.5 x 27.5 inches Forsyth (Saint Louis) is proud to be the exclusive gallery of John O'Hara (American, b. 1963). O'Hara is a self-taught artist from St. Louis and is known for his large-scale abstract decorative pieces. His medium of choice is encaustic—a mixture of pigments and beeswax and he allows the material to dictate color, line and texture. His works often feature natural and organic forms and incorporate both figural and abstract elements. O'Hara began his art career in 2018 and collectors and designers quickly took notice. His work is included in both public and private collections around the world. Michael Kors selected O'Hara's Tar series paintings for his Milan, Paris, and New York showrooms and his flagship store in London. 14K Gold Aquamarine Martini Glass Cufflinks Rockefeller Style Mid-Century 1950s

By Tiffany & Co.

Located in St. Louis, MO

A rare and exceptionally stylish pair of mid-century 14k yellow gold and aquamarine cufflinks featuring a crisp cocktail glass motif framed within an open circular bezel. Each cufflink showcases a stylized martini glass formed in polished gold, centered with a custom triangular-cut aquamarine simulating the drink itself. Designed during the golden age of American cocktail attire, this exact design reflects the ultimate mid-century luxury aesthetic—allowing you to live like a Rockefeller. A virtually identical pair of 14k gold and aquamarine martini glass cufflinks from the legendary collection of David Rockefeller was sold at Christie’s New York (The Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller) on May 9, 2018, realizing $13,750. These cufflinks are the ultimate artifact of post-war American luxury and mid-century lounge culture. During the 1950s and 1960s, the martini glass emerged as the defining symbol of sophisticated bachelor style—popularized by Frank Sinatra, the Sands Hotel Rat Pack, and the mid-century "Cocktail Hour" movement. Whether worn with a tailored tuxedo at a swing dance club or displayed as barware art, this design captures the suave, effortless cool of early Playboy era style. The open gold circle framing the aquamarine glass mirrors the bold, geometric design language of 1950s fine jewelry, making it a definitive statement piece for collectors of mid-century Americana. During the post-war era, high-end fine jewelry houses in New York and Providence (such as Larter & Sons, Marchal Jewelers, Crescent Jewelry...
