A rare and highly important set of four Royal sterling silver Georgian, pillow shaped lidded entree serving dishes, by Andrew Fogelberg and Stephen Gilbert, London, 1792. Engraved with the Order of the Garter. The Order of the Garter is the highest British order of chivalry, limited to the Monarch (Sovereign of the Garter), the Prince of Wales, and 24 Knights. The dishes are engraved both on the lids and the inside with the royal badge with a coronet engraved with the legend in Latin; "Honi Soit Que Mal Y Pense" (Shamed to be the one who thinks evil of it). The pillow shaped dishes below lids with oval ribbed and acanthus leaf decorated handles, the edges of the bases having gadrooned borders. The lids and bases are fully hallmarked with the date letter for 1792, the panther's head for London and the maker's marks for Andrew Fogelberg and Stephen Gilbert. This highly important set of four serving dishes are in excellent condition, they came from a royal household and a ready to grace your table or treasured silver display case...

Antique 18th Century Spanish Colonial South American retablo, features Saint Camillus De Lellis (San Camilo), Patron Saint of The Sick, Peru, Cusco, circa 1760. This devotional retablo is sensitively painted on copper and housed in a gilt-wood frame. The painting depicts a scene of a recumbent figure, presumably Christ, attended by Saint Camillus De Lellis. Christ is wearing white linens, holding a white lit candle to depict the divine light. There is a skeletal figure to the left of Christ's head, symbolic of the presence of death. A good antique 18th century Ottoman Iznik/Kutayha pottery plate, circa 1750. The plate with a cream glaze ground, hand-painted with multi-colored floral motifs of under glaze blue, green & red. The plate is decorated with typical stylized tulips, carnations and Ottoman Saz leaves & blossoms. Iznik & Kutahya are towns in Turkey with an illustrious history of hundreds of years of fine pottery making, this type of pottery is characterized by it's fritware body often containing a high percentage of ground glass & fired at lower temperatures, a type of tin glazed earthenware, which was an attempt to imitate the high-fired glazes of Chinese porcelain. This plate dates to the middle of the 1700s by around 1800 the production of such pottery has ceased. This plate is in good condition, no cracks or chips, expected small amounts of glaze loss to the edges, the makers mark is on the verso in the form of an under glaze flower head. A fine antique Georgian Regency period tall case 8 day inlaid mahogany grandfather clock with a rocking figure of Old Father Time, by Andrew Rich of Bridgwater Somerset, circa 1820. The clock is made of the finest figured flame mahogany & inlaid with satinwood stringing, the clock hood with twin arched 'swan's neck' pediment with brass rosettes & a central brass urn shaped finial. The hood door is flanked by a pair of turned columns with gilt brass capitals & bases, the door enclosing a painted dial with gilding & floral spandrel panels. The clock having an unsul feature of a winged Old Father Time, holding his scythe he rocks backwards & forwards in unison with the pendulum. The dial with black Roman numerals and having a seconds dial and also a calendar dial, the clock is signed to the center "Rich Bridgwater" (a prosperous historic coastal town & port in the Somerset area of the Southwest of England). The trunk of the case with carved 'ropetwist' pilasters, the door & base inlaid with satinwood stringing, the clock is raised on bracket feet. The clock has an eight day mechanism & strikes the hours on a mellow sounding bell, the clock chime can be silenced by not winding the chime arbor, original pendulum & weights, winding key is present.
