This 2007 photograph features six beautiful blondes posing on a bed. The photograph is from John Stoddart’s, “Risqué” series, where he explored a form of photography that seeks to shed any barriers between the subject and the camera, by using a human body in a nude or semi-nude form.
John Stoddart is known as the “Photographer to the Stars” and recognized as one of the world’s most renowned photographers. Born in the United Kingdom, his work includes photographing glamorous celebrities such as Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sir Anthony Hopkins, to big name bands such as “The Rolling Stones”. By the early 1980’s, John had photographed every major record label band, establishing himself as a legend photographer. A notoriously fast photographer, he has a preference for working with film as opposed to digital. John’s passion for photography carries over to the complete printing process and also includes his collection of beautiful, era gone by cameras. He is not just a photographer; he is an artist and his work capture not just a picture but a story that can be told to the viewer through the eyes of his subjects. He has worked for major publications and brands that included Vogue, Harper’s, EMI and Virgin and is often credited for the return of glamour to popular culture.
Stoddart has exhibited world-wide, including galleries in London and Paris. The Sofitel Hotel, Beverly Hills in 2017 held an “A” list invitation only exhibition and has continued to use his celebrity images as framed art throughout the hotel.

Artist Lucien Delarue was born in Paris in 1925, and he is known for his spectacular cityscape painting. Post Impressionist painter He studied at the studios of Grande Chaumiere, Paris and was a pupil of Maitre Yves Brayer. He is best know as a French Impressionist. He loved to paint the romantic streets of Paris with its stunning architecture and beauty. Also included in his repertoire is colorful French floral still life paintings, South of France country cottages, harbor views, and river scenes. At a very early age Delarue began taking part in exhibitions. Quickly he was talking medals for his works including first prize and the Vermeil-Medaille at the Salon Violet. Other gold medals include the Salon of Vincennes, and the Salon of Clichy (1973). In 1974 he won the silver medal at the Salon des Artistes Francais, and a bronze medal at the "Arts-Sciences-Lettres" exhibition in Paris. He also exhibited works at the Museum of Ile de France in the chateau of Sceaux. He held exhibitions in New York and in San Francisco in the United States. He was a member of the Salon des Artistes Francais and of the French Watercolor Society.Lucien Delarue excelled in recreating the cottages, harbor views, and expressionist architecture of Paris in his artwork. His watercolor paintings include color-rich representations of France's many scenic rivers. Romona Youngquist was born on January 11, 1960 in Yuba City, California, but grew up in Eastern Oklahoma. Youngquist essentially started out in life as a child of nature, spending her time exploring the woods with her dog and collecting critters. While exploring, she also studied the design and color of nature. She recalls many times standing in a field just staring in fascination at the values of the deciduous trees against a dark Oklahoma sky before a storm then rushing home to draw what she had seen.
Technically self-taught, she thinks of nature as her real teacher. In 1994 she was awarded a grant from the Alaska State Council for the Arts to study with Oregon landscape painter Michael Gibbons. Industry and Commerce is a prime example of WPA Era muralism. Like a Mediaeval alter, this mural study is filled with icons, but the images of saints and martyrs are replaced with symbols of America's gospel of prosperity through capitalism. Industry and Commerce has a strong narrative quality with vignettes filling the entire surface. Extraction, logistics, design, power generation, and manufacturing for printing, chemicals, automobiles and metal products are all represented. To eliminate any doubt about the mural's themes, Ballator letters a description into the bottom of the study. Ballator also presents an idealized version of industrial cooperation, as his workers, lab-coated technicians and tie-wearing managers work harmoniously toward a common goal in the tidy and neatly designed environments. Although far from the reality of most industrial spaces, Ballator's study reflects the idealized and morale boosting tone that many mural projects adopted during the Great Depression.
About the Artist
John R Ballator achieved success as a muralist, lithographer, and teacher during the Great Depression. Born in Oregon, he studied at the Portland Museum Art School, the University of Oregon and at Yale University where he received a Bachelor of Fine Art. In 1936, Ballator was commissioned to paint a mural panel for the new Department of Justice Building in Washington DC, an important project that spanned five years with several dozen artists contributing a total of sixty-eight designs. Ballator completed murals for the St. Johns Post Office and Franklin High School, both in Portland, Oregon. He also contributed to the 1938 murals at Nathan Hale School in New Haven, Connecticut. During the late 1930s, Ballator taught art for several years at Washburn College in Topeka, Kanas, where he completed a mural for the Menninger Arts & Craft Shop before accepting a professorship at Hollins College...
