Vintage Aladdin and The Lamp with Dragon and Cats
Located in Soquel, CA
A highly detailed India ink drawing with watercolor and Gouache. Each intricate circle and line is hand drawn to create a matrix within which the artist colors the scene to a fine realistic conclusion. Aladdin smiles at the Lantern that has given him his wishes, wealth and knowledge. Signed and dated "Ben Black 85" lower right. Image, 17"H x 27"L (portions of the work flow into the full mat length and width, which is: 20"H x 30"L). We have included a lower resolution image (#1) taken in subdued light to show the full range of colors we were unable to capture due to the extensive fine India ink designs throughout. Ben Black was born in Boston, he graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art 1947. He served in World War 2. He was an art director at one of Boston's leading advertising firms, later opened his own studio where his works were included in The New Yorker, Saturday Evening Post, Reader's Digest, establishing himself as a leading American Illustrator. Rhythm Hut #20: framed abstract ink painting on art paper in red & black w/ moon
Located in Bryn Mawr, PA
This is a framed mixed media ink painting (sumi inks, India inks, and walnut inks) on paper in red, black, and earth tones. It is framed in a contemporary white wood shadowbox frame. Organizing the composition is a moon motif. This series was created by Antonio Puri during an artist's residency in Australia. Can be displayed in any orientation. This piece works especially well when paired with "Rhythm Hut #17", listed separately. Antonio Puri was born in Chandigarh, Punjab, India and raised in the Himalayas around Buddhist monks before studying at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, Coe College, and the University of Iowa. He established his studio in Philadelphia where he practiced for many years before relocating to Bogotá, Colombia. During this time, Puri completed several artist residencies all over the world, including in New York, Hungary, Bulgaria, Colombia, South Africa, Serbia, Mauritius, India, Denmark, Trinidad and Tobago, and Romania. Puri’s range of geographical and cultural experiences are embedded in his work, where he commonly explores the relationships between his eastern and western cultural connections. Puri has exhibited his work all over the world, including at the Museo de Arte del Tolima in Colombia; Sundaram Tagore Gallery Singapore; Government Museum and Art Gallery Chandigarh, India; Art Depot, Austria; La Cometa Gallery, Bogota; Museo Casa Conde Rul, Mexico; The Guild, NY; Nu Art...

Have You Seen This Person
Located in Bozeman, MT
This is a very active and textured painting in a vertical composition. There are multiples collages on a blue background. The main focus is a person in red holding a a black star, along with other figures and lit up homes. Paint also drips down that canvas. At the bottom of the painting is a grey Saturn. To see more images of this piece, please message us. Casey McGlynn grew up in rural Ontario, where he would sit in front of the television and draw on old grocery bags and scrap paper tirelessly, creating self-taught surrealist pop art. McGlynn attended the Ontario College of Art and Design, however, he was not enrolled in the visual arts. McGlynn’s work contains reoccurring symbols such as animals from his upbringing, birds from his studio window sill and numbers that derive from when he memorized math tables in his early years. McGlynn’s work is as much about revealing the truth and expressing emotions as it is about documenting actual fact. His paintings reach into a wealth of historical influence and skill. Creating symphonic glyphs on rudimentary, raw quilt-like patterns, the works simultaneously evoke rural Southern quilts...
