"Forêt Noire", Black Forest Riverside with Timbered Houses and Figures

Located in Genève, GE

Titled "Forêt Noire" (black forest) at the back of the wood panel with the mention "Diday Peintre" (Diday Painter). This finely detailed oil painting depicts a tranquil riverside scene set in Germany’s Black Forest, rendered with a strong sense of place and atmosphere. Traditional timber-framed houses nestle at the water’s edge beneath rugged rocky outcrops, while a gently flowing river reflects the warm, golden light of the surrounding landscape. The artist demonstrates a careful balance between topographical precision and romantic sensibility. The composition is structured yet intimate, with the steep rock formations guiding the eye toward the central dwelling, while the foliage and soft light create depth and harmony. The warm, earthy palette; rich browns, mossy greens, and amber highlights, evokes the quiet beauty and timelessness of the Black Forest region. Executed with controlled, delicate brushwork, the painting aligns with the 19th-century European landscape tradition, where natural scenery is both observed and idealized. It reflects the influence of Romanticism and the Düsseldorf School, emphasizing mood, narrative, and reverence for nature. This work offers both decorative appeal and historical resonance, making it particularly attractive to collectors of European landscapes and 19th-century Romantic painting. "South Ferry from Shelter Island" Oil painting realist seascape, signed, framed

By Angel Ramiro Sanchez

Located in Sag Harbor, NY

Painted from life in 2016 by Angel Ramiro Sanchez; a subtle and colorful seascape. The South Ferry runs across the Peconic Bay, from North Haven, Sag Harbor, to Shelter Island. A humble spot in New York's famous summertime destination, The Hamptons. Signed: "Angel Ramiro Sanchez" on lower left, recto & again on verso. Framed in a simple black frame with gold inner lip. Frame has a couple small scuffs. Angel Ramiro Sanchez was born in 1974 in Maracaibo, Venezuela. At age six was accepted with full scholarship into the Instituto the Niños Cantores del Zulia, school for musically gifted children. At age fourteen he began five years of apprenticeship with the realist painter, Abdon J. Romero, an eminent specialist in murals for churches and public buildings. In 1993, a study grant from Mgr. Gustavo Ocando Yamarte, Founder the Niños Cantores, enabled him to travel to Florence, Italy, where he studied at the renowned Accademia di Belle Arti, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1997. At the same time, he was enrolled at The Florence Academy of Art,founded by painter Daniel Graves, where he received a diploma in Painting. Ramiro was appointed senior painting instructor at The Florence Academy of Art in 1997, and is currently Director of the Advanced Painting Program. Ramiro paints only from life, searching for accuracy beyond physical appearance to reach the psychological state of his subject. He believes the painter must draw his information from "all five senses" to tell the complete human story. Ramiros work is predominantly represented by th e Grenning Gallery in Sag Harbor, New York, but also Scriba Gallery, venice, Italy, Jack Meier Gallery, Houston, Tx. Ramiros works can be found in numerous private collections in Europe, The United States and South America. Public collections include: The Fondazione Stelline, Milan, Italy. The Fremantle Foundation for Foreing Artist in Tuscany at Villa Peyron, Florence, Italy and The Muscarelle Museum of Art at the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA. USA. He shares his life and passion for art with his wife, the artist Melissa Franklin-Sanchez. Education 1993-1997 Florence Academy of Art, directed by Daniel Graves, Florence, Italy. 1993-1997 Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze Graduated Magna Cum Laude, Thesis: Historic and Technical Notes of Academic Realism Today. 1995 Florence, Italy: Michael John Angel...

Bustling Street Market Scene, 19th century Oil on Board

By Oscar Ricciardi

Located in Genève, GE

Dimensions with frame: 49 x 31 x 4,5 cm Signed "Ricciardi" in the lower left corner. This lively street market scene captures the vibrant atmosphere of an outdoor marketplace set within a historic European town. The composition centers around a group of figures gathered beneath a large market canopy, surrounded by colorful produce stalls and baskets overflowing with fruits and vegetables. Executed in oil with loose, expressive brushwork, the artist emphasizes movement and atmosphere rather than precise detail, evoking the spontaneous energy of everyday urban life. The soft, luminous sky contrasts with the warm earthy tones of the market stalls and surrounding architecture, while subtle reflections on the ground suggest recent rain, adding depth and visual richness to the scene. The background architecture, rendered in hazy atmospheric perspective, frames the activity of the market while keeping the focus on the human interaction at the heart of the composition. The figures, painted with quick and confident strokes, contribute to the sense of a fleeting moment captured in paint. This work reflects the long tradition of European genre and street scene painting, celebrating the charm of daily life and the colorful vitality of local markets. Executed in oil on board (or canvas, if applicable), the painting is signed in the lower left and presents a dynamic and decorative composition well suited for both traditional and contemporary interiors. street market painting, European market scene painting...

Sumatran 2 (Tiger)

Sumatran 2 (Tiger)

By Matt Kinney

Located in Hudson, NY

This new series of painting is an exciting transition for Kinney as he is best known for assemblage and sculpture. “Anim”, the Latin root word of animal, means life, soul or breath. This exhibition features select large-format monochromatic oil paintings on stretched canvas and wood panels. On view as well are works on paper with Japanese Sumi Ink, which inspired the oil paintings. Kinney has been looking at pre-historic cave paintings as well as animals depicted therein, such as the Chauvet caves in Nice, Southern France. Emerging from the inextricable interplay of light and dark, Kinney’s black and white ink paintings capture the ever-shifting subjectivity shaped by shadow. Cast in Japanese Sumi ink, each unique painting explores the trajectories of human and animal, natural and architectural form- what is revealed or hidden? A variety of hand-torn, heavy weight papers add textural dimension to each mark and brush stroke, as well as through the immediacy of brushstrokes to depict the action within the artwork In his latest collection of works, Kinney explores animal form and meaning as seen in both contemporary and ancient times. In “Savanna (Zebras) ”, a stampede of zebras is depicted through oil paint on wood panel. Animal populations in regions like the horn of Africa today face the loss of their natural habitats due to extreme draught. He explores the deep imprint they leave behind and the interconnectedness of humans and animals in the world. With the balance of nature at stake, Kinney’s paintings underscore the importance of the relationship between the natural environment and civilization. Matt Kinney...

Widely known for painting expansive views of the Hudson Valley where the artist often embarks on extensive hiking trails, Konigsberg also takes to painting more intimate and commonplace household objects. A coffee pot, salt and pepper shaker, or as in this case, a simple bouquet of long stemmed pink peonies careening over the side of a green vase; his use of oil washes capture both fluidity and structure. The fanciful treatment of the flowers calls to mind French Impressionist Toulouse Latrec...

Highways and Byways is painting on a wooden panel so there is no need for a frame.. Like a lot of artists, McClure’s interest in art developed early in childhood. She recalls, “When I was eight years old, I begged my dad to let me take an after-school painting class. I was shocked when I got there and found out they were painting with paint by number kits. I did not want to do that. I hate coloring inside the lines. So, the teacher allowed me to look for images to use as inspiration. In my memory, I think the first one must have been a reproduction of a Cezanne landscape. I just did what I did all on my own, but I loved mixing colors. Then my dad died, and we moved from Oklahoma to Texas. Sadly, I never really did anything else until I was in my twenties. I then took up painting again all on my own and trying to learn from other artists demonstrating their painting techniques and taking workshops. I have been painting ever since, more than forty years.” She continues, “For many years I only painted with acrylics or mixed media collage. In 2005, I also started painting with encaustic and have gone back to using oil paint again. I suppose acrylic remains my dominant medium. Mixing it up now and then keeps me on my toes and is a great way to learn. Each medium can teach you certain aspects of painting others do not. Each medium has its strengths and weaknesses depending on what you want to express. You can learn from all. I did not love watercolor because it took too much pre-planning. But I learned a lot about negative shapes and composition. I learned a lot with pastel and charcoal about making marks. By working back and forth with different media, I am growing as a painter.” If I used only intent, I would more than likely be disappointed because my imagined intent is always elusive. I get more than I imagined by not setting too many rules about how to get there. Using all of these factors, I can use the knowledge of formal issues that comes from viewing a lot of art and, also, from being in the studio making art all of the time. Using that comprehension of formal design as an aid to intuitively know what is the right relationship of color, mark, space, etc. is the intent. Intention is necessary to direct you to explore the former two. Intention also demands you delve more into your own reasons for making art. 2020 University of Texas, College of Pharmacy Partnership Exhibit, Tyler, TX Beauty of Art and Medicine IV, Rogers Nursing and Health Sciences Building, Tyler Junior College, Tyler, TX Stable, Cerulean Gallery, Dallas, TX 2019 Mississippi Art Colony Fall Travel Show, juror, Stanley Kurth Small Works, Gallery Mack, Seattle, WA 2017 Black Tie (optional), Invitational, Adam Peck Gallery, Provincetown, Mass.
