"Shrine I" Watercolor with Lacquer Mixed Media
By Yuriko Takata
Located in Surfside, FL
Yuriko Takata's work is a simple celebration of the beauty of nature. Her floral prints range from delicately rendered watercolors reminiscent of French antique botanical prints to bold, pastel still-life images inspired by the oil paintings of the old Dutch Masters. After making extensive sketches in exotic and beautiful locations around the world, Takata returns to the privacy of her own studio to complete her works. She eagerly explores different artistic styles, and her talent lies in her ability to foresee interior design developments and focus her imagery on these trendsetting styles. Always searching for new insights and visual experiences, Takata's interests range from realistic still-life and landscape to the exploration of purely abstract imagery with a simplified surface. Takata was born and raised in California but still converses in Japanese with her mother, who studies the ancient Japanese art of flower arranging. Although she frequently visits the rest of her family in Japan, Takata considers the San Francisco Bay area her home. With exhibits in the United States, Europe and Japan, Takata's work is held in the collections of AT&T, Bank of America, Dean Witter, Foremost McKesson, Hollister, Inc., Illinois Bell...

Instead (Colorful Gestural Geometric Abstract Painting on Panel)
Located in Hudson, NY
Colorful abstract painting with geometric details in bright hues of blue, red, green, and yellow, against a black background "Instead", painted by Anne Francey in 2017 Mixed media on Masonite 10 x 10 x 2 inches, sides reveal raw wood Excellent condition, signed verso Ready to hang Anne Francey has been working with subject matter inspired by nature for most of her artistic career. Since the pandemic, this focus has become ever more apparent as her new acrylic paintings on paper demonstrate her intuitive process of reinterpreting literal subjects like leaves, flowers, birds, or bugs into vibrant worlds of layered color. She begins by drawing from life but then allows fluctuating colors, traces of the hand, and evidence of the physical medium to be introduced as the composition evolves and finds its final imprint on the surface. The spontaneity of her process welcomes the unknown, she explains: “The things that moved me first…might have become by now just a faint whispering. But I know that a story is being told, even if I don’t understand yet all the words.” About the artist: Anne Francey was born in 1956 in Grandson, Switzerland. She attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Lausanne (ECBA) from 1976 to 1981, where she received a diploma of Fine Arts in painting. In 1981, she moved to New York where she attended the School of Visual Arts and the graduate program of Fine Arts at Hunter College. She graduated in 1987 with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA). Bonehenge
Located in Philadelphia, PA
This original piece by Luke O'Sullivan is made from wood that the artist has silkscreen printed onto with his original drawings and patterns, which he then cut and assembled into a three-dimensional, wall-hanging sculpture with additional wire and copper details. The finished piece measures 40”h x 35”w x 11”d. About the Artwork O’Sullivan creates invented buildings, places, and objects describing unexplored worlds conjuring a sense of discovery and adventure. Rise and Shine represents a shift from the artist’s earlier work featuring structures, facades, and panoramic landscapes toward a more detailed approach. These new works depict encapsulated, floating environments devoid of humans. The sculptural objects are keepsakes or relics from these faraway places. Each piece plays with the shifting relationships between two and three dimensions, surface and underworld. O’Sullivan’s recent screen prints introduce color, imbuing these works with a certain levity and illustrative quality. The playful nature of O’Sullivan’s work draws from Nintendo games, maps, science fiction movies, and movie set design. Likening his process to a lego set...

Feeding a Calf Lovely Farm Scene with Redhead Girl mid 19th Century Oil Painting
Located in Stockholm, SE
As we gaze upon this artwork, we are immediately struck by the warmth and tenderness exuding from the scene. The woman, with a gentle smile on her face, carefully feeds the pet calf, while the redhead girl, her eyes sparkling with excitement, reaches out to touch the adorable creature. The artist's attention to detail is impeccable, with each brushstroke conveying a sense of life and movement to the painting. Nevertheless, the beauty of this painting lies not only in its technical prowess but also in the emotions it evokes. Visual research gets us to authorship of Walter Goodall (1830 - 1889) an British painter. But since the painting is not signed apparently – it is hard to state for sure. Antique oil painting on canvas with stamp for 'Brodie & Middleton, 79 Long Acre...

"Ocean Waves #09" Mixed Media Painting
Located in Denver, CO
Ana Hefco's (US based) "Ocean Waves #09" is an original, hand made mixed media painting that depicts an abstracted color field of blue, teal and beige, that is reminiscent of an aerial/satellite image of a coastal beach where the waves crash on shore. Artist Bio and Statement: Born and raised in Bucharest Romania, I am a self-taught dreamer and artist. To dream is my path and to paint is my dream. Lack of control is not my strong suit, but in the painting process things are different. The resin (also known as liquid glass) has a mind of its own and I learn to mindfully let go every time I paint. I allow those liquid color induced emotions I feel to drive me and take lead of my hands and at the end of the process, it’s just music and bliss. My inspiration is always nature's force, balance, perfection in purpose and beauty. It can be a place I travelled or sailed to or just a feeling floating on our boat docked in a Turkish marina or just on anchor nearby a Greek taverna on a remote tiny island in the Mediterranean or Aegean Sea. It can be this artist as a little girl reading...
