Located in Culver City, CA
"03:03" Bronze Sculpture 76" x 71" x 30" inch Edition of 8 by Huang Yulong ABOUT THE ARTIST Huang Yulong was born in 1983 in Anhui Province, China. In 2007 he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in Jiangxi Province. As one of the new generation of Chinese artists and part of the ‘post-80s generation’ and ‘only child’ generation, Huang is strongly influenced by the phenomenon of foreign culture in China, which he combines with his fascination with pottery and the material world. Huang is best known for his sculptures of Buddhas in hoodies, displaying an exchange of Eastern tradition and Western contemporary style. He was selected by “Complex” as “25 Contemporary Chinese Artists You Need to Know” in 2013. His sculptures have been exhibited at Niubi Newbie Kids II, at Schoeni Gallery, Hong Kong; “Zeitgeist” Huang Yulong’s Solo Exhibition at Himalayas Art Museum, Shanghai, China; Chinese Artist / Marseille Artist at Marseilles, France; The 4th International Contemporary Art Exhibition at Gwangju Biennale Korea, Art Beijing Art...

Fading pink (#3)
Located in New York, NY
Hernan Bas is best known for his narratively rich scenes that feature a wide-range of references spanning art and literature, popular culture, kitsch, the occult, religion, and mythology. Across his works, Bas seeks to defamiliarize everyday experience through humor, revealing the surreal and absurd lurking beneath the mundane. In conceiving this flamingo sculpture series, Bas was inspired specifically by the 19th century novel ‘Against Nature’ by Joris-Karl Huysmans. In the novel, the main character, an astute dandy of epic proportions, decides to cover a pet tortoise's shell with ornate jewels in order to see how the light would glimmer on it as it slowly treaded across his carpets. Bas imagined a fictional character of his own, a "Florida Dandy," who would naturally want bright pink flamingos as pets. The ball and chain keep them from flying away and simultaneously constrain them to a certain territory. . . . Fading pink (#3), 2016-2017 resin, feathers, galvanized metal buoy...

Diver UP! Blue Resin
Located in New York, NY
Victor Spinelli was born in New York from and Italian family. Established in Ibiza, he attributes his origins in art to piloting a Hot Air balloon and travelling the world as a photographer. His works range from painting to sculpture and of course, photography. In 2019 he orchestrated the construction of an 8-foot wooden sculpture of my popular photograph “Diver UP” for Burning Man. The sculpture was torched on “The Mans” ashes after he burned to the ground and this symbolized metamorphoses of not only the evolution of Diver UP, but also a demarcation point in his career, thus beginning a new chapter within it. In 2020 he organizes the first edition of the Spin Art...

Dom Pérignon Balloon Venus
Located in New York, NY
Balloon Dog is an iconic work within the highly acclaimed Celebration series, which JEFF KOONS began in the mid 1990s. The Celebration artworks reference certain times of year (holidays and birthdays) but also the celebration of the cycle of life. What else could suggest the cheer of children’s parties more eloquently than a colorful balloon, twisted into the instantly recognizable form of a dog. According to the artist, “It is about celebration and childhood and color and simplicity – but it’s also a Trojan horse. It’s a Trojan horse to the whole body of art work.” Balloon Dog has the profoundness of an archaic sculpture. The monumental Balloon Dog sculptures...

These block-style figurines boast teddy bear-style heads that have become an integral pillar of the collectible toy scene. In fact, it wouldn’t be so far-fetched to say that it almost single-handedly carved out the fad of toy collecting in modern times, treading the very fine line between toy and art. Since its inception, BE@RBRICKs have become one of the most recognizable characters in the world, and some of the most sought after. Related Categories Basquiat. Street Art. Art toys. Kaws.
