Carlo Maiolini is a French artist born in 1940 who lives & works in Laroque des Albères, Pyrénnées-Orientales, France. He is multi-disciplinary painter who has exhibited his work in France, Belgium and Tunisia. A professional painter, draftsman and textile artist since graduating from a top art school in the 1950s, he boasts years of experience and a distinctive body of work. Maiolini composes large oil paintings that showcase interesting combinations of man and nature, statues and movement - in tributes to history and art.

Figurative art, as opposed to abstract art, retains features from the observable world in its representational depictions of subject matter. Most commonly, figurative paintings reference and explore the human body, but they can also include landscapes, architecture, plants and animals — all portrayed with realism.
