The 47 mm gold outer case features a central oval miniature portraying a classically draped maiden gently waking a sleeping winged cupid against a dark ground. Encircling this monochrome vignette is an enamel border of raised white beads resembling split pearls, enclosed within dark blue translucent champlevé foliate scrolls beneath a ribbon motif. The bezels are enriched throughout with repeating geometric patterns of white and blue enamel, while the plain gold inner case carries the maker's mark R.H beneath a traditional stirrup bow. The matching chatelaine is formed around an arched gold-faced suspension clip centering a large grisaille medallion of a classical figure standing beside a smoking brazier. Suspended from the primary clip is a central articulated drop of three graduating gold-faced cartouches depicting classical heads and deities in grisaille, joined by delicate gold loop links and miniature floral enamel panels.
