Dimitri Turnava is a Georgian artist born in 2004 from Borjomi who lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. With a deep passion for exploring the human experience through art. He studied graphic design and illustration at the Design and Print Academy in Tbilisi, which provided him with a solid background in visual storytelling. While he works with various mediums, including oil and acrylic paints, his favorite medium is oil pastels, he finds them perfect for capturing rich, expressive colors and textures. His work primarily focuses on portraits, people, and landscapes. He is deeply influenced by expressionism, post impressionism and fauvism, styles that emphasize bold, vibrant colors and emotional portrayals over realistic depictions. Additionally, he draws inspiration from Georgian art, incorporating traditional patterns, symbols, and cultural elements into his pieces.
