Giuseppe Tampieri Art
Giuseppe Tampieri was born in Lugo, Ravenna, on March 9, 1918. From his early childhood in Faenza, he revealed strong aptitudes for art and attended the T. Minardi Drawing School. He completed his artistic studies at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, where, in 1941, he became a teacher. He exhibited for the first time at the Trade Union Exhibition of Ravenna in 1936. Since then, he has participated in various important national art exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale and the Rome Quadriennale. Tampieri has illustrated books and published his writings on art in newspapers and magazines. Member of various artistic and cultural institutions, he has been an Academician of Merit of the Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti, in Genoa since 1987. After moving to Genoa in 1950, he remained there until 1982. He moved to Faenza and worked there later on. His works are found in numerous public and private collections in Italy and abroad. Tampieri died in Faenza in 2014.
