An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver mustard pot with glass liner; an addition to our silver cruets/condiments collection. This exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver mustard pot has a cylindrical form with a plain circular spreading foot. The body of the mustard pot is embellished with pierced decorated conjoined scrolling designs, accented with four chased decorated masks anchoring pensile drop fruiting arrangements. The upper and lower rims of this mustard pot are ornamented with applied, moulded thread decorated borders. This fine Victorian silver mustard pot retains the original hallmarked hinged cover surmounted with an impressive cast silver finial and leaf decorated thumbpiece. The surface of the cover is encircled with further chased decorated fruiting arrangements on a matte background, and incorporates a scroll bordered vacant shaped cartouche to either side. This fine example of antique silverware is fitted with an impressive cast opposing scrolling handle. The mustard pot is fitted with the original removable clear frosted glass liner. The cover retains the original gilding to the interior. An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian English cast sterling silver three piece condiment set in the form of squirrels; an addition to our silver cruets/condiments collection This exceptional and rare antique Victorian English cast sterling silver condiment set consists of a mustard pot and a pair of peppers. The components of this magnificent set have been realistically modelled in the form of squirrels eating nuts. Each substantial piece is ornamented with details reproducing the squirrel's fur and anatomical features. The fine mustard pot is fitted the original hallmarked flush hinged cover, incorporating the rodent's arms and head, and retains the original gilding to the interior; the flush hinge and gilding indicates the high quality of the piece. The decoration to each squirrel pepper incorporates an array of pierced 'pepper' holes to the upper portion. The underside of each pepperette is fitted with a hinged hallmarked push fit cover. The base of each piece bears the retailer's mark 'Jones 41 St James's St & 23 B Des Capucine, Paris'. The magnificent condiment set will have been crafted in the same year, but due to the hallmarking system the mustard pot is struck with the date letter 'C' and the pepperettes bear the date letter 'D'. This fine mustard pot retains the original hallmarked hinged domed cover surmounted with an impressive interlacing tri-lobed thumbpiece. This antique piece is fitted with an opposing scroll handle ornamented with a plain scrolling thumbpiece. The mustard pot retains the original removable blue glass liner.
