Robert Mallet-Stevens, the architect of the Cavrois villa, started his career in 1907. Inspired by the architecture of Josef Hoffman and the Vienna Secession, he distinguished himself during his studies at the Ecole spéciale d’architecture as a defender of a modern and rational vision of architecture, which renounces decoration. Around 1920, Mallet-Stevens was active in various design disciplines: he designed shop windows and shops for industry and trade.
