De La Nuez studied Art History at Boston University where he was inspired by the French Impressionist and Post-Impressionist periods. Though his paintings are clearly Pop Art, the subtle humor of artists like Edouard Manet and Pablo Picasso echo throughout his playful work. De La Nuez’s work hangs in some of the most prominent private collections of movie stars, directors, producers, comedians, and corporations. His work has been purchased by Sotheby’s for future auctions and his works sell out consistently at major international shows and fairs. Nelson De La Nuez tries to create a new generation of art lovers, drawing upon icons and art history to entice younger minds, in turn provoking the interest of the generation above them. The L.A. Times called De La Nuez “the comedic da Vinci of our times.” His ability to use non-related images to achieve a whole new and stimulating outlook on life has brought him many awards and published features. The artist continues to challenge himself to incorporate new and exciting ideas into his art and his style. He believes he is a success if his art inspires people to think beyond the norm. Inspired by the artists of the Modern Art era, including Post-Impressionist Paul Cezanne, Kang visualizes the modern-day search for identity in an age where information and images permeate every aspect of contemporary life. His architectural urban scenes are flattened, with everything pressed against the surface of the artwork. At times, multiple views of the same houses are visible, trees and bushes are vaguely alluded to, and the color palette finds a hectic balance. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Tae Ho Kang was born in Seoul, Korea in 1945. He studied at the College of Arts of Hongik University in Seoul, South Korea. He later moved to California to study Fine Art at California State University, where he graduated in 1980. Since then, his artworks have focused on the never-ending quest for home and belonging in a dense urban landscape. About his mixed media artworks, he remarks: “One day, when I was traveling, I was impressed by the beautiful scenery of the city under the sky, with many straight lines, curved lines, and harmonies of different colors, which seemed to be a magnificent orchestral performance. The beauty of this urban landscape gave me a deep impression and great change began to take place in my work. I wanted to be a molecule in this huge space. I have to find a house of my heart to be a molecule. Where is the house I live in? What is my identity? This question has begun to arise. I am on a long journey to find my own house.” His mixed media collage artworks have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions as well as international art fairs throughout the US and in Korea. Kang's work has also been featured in Television and Film productions, including Criminal Minds, NCIS Los Angeles, Unforgettable, The Mindy Project, The Great Indoors, and American Housewife. His artworks have been exhibited and acquired by private collectors around the world.
