Design: Features William Innes, a Member of Parliament and Captain of the Society of Golfers in 1778 at the Royal Blackheath Golf Club.
Interior: The inside lid bears the inscription, referencing a painting by Lemuel Francis Abbot, along with a note about King James I introducing golf to England from Scotland in 1608.
Exterior: Decorated with vintage golf illustrations, bordered by green and gold accents.
Base: Marked Halcyon Days Enamels, England.

This is a good and complete English handmade wood "weighted" chess set game of 32 pieces, in its original box with a sliding lid, made by John Jaques of London and dating to the mid 20th century period.
The chess pieces are made of turned and carved varnished wood. The bases of ALL pieces are weighted with metal pieces and the bases have a green felt/paper cover.
Weighted sets like this one have a much nicer "feel" when playing.
The pieces in the set are in the Staunton style.
Sizes: Kings: 70mm ( ~ 2.75 inches); Pawns: ~45mm (~1.7 inches)
The set comes complete with its original wood storage box, having a sliding lid and complete with a paper makers sticker to the lid.

The egg has been crafted from gold filigree — that is, gold wires interwoven to make a delicate lace-like pattern. The gold is arranged to form the image of a peacock, with a magnificent fanned train, composed of red, dark blue and green coloured plique-à-jour enamel. This rare and larger size jewelry box or casket makes a beautiful accessory for a lady with an eye for fine arts. It is a very well made gem and highly practical with seven drawers and a good working lock and key in the right door and two sliding brass 'locks' in the inside of the left door. This box opens and closes perfectly and its striking presence will grace your vanity or dresser in a way that no modern piece ever could. The drawers come with a stunning blue lining and the three 'tiers' each have their own kind of interior. The top tier may have been made for pocket watches or circular brooches. The one below could have been made for necklaces and/or bracelets and the two bottom tiers, consisting of four drawers would have been used for all other types of jewelry.
