This three-piece set—composed of a clock and a pair of flanking candelabra—is a truly unique and delightful piece of decorative art. The clock is modelled in the image of an 18th century sedan chair – that is, a covered chair sat in by a member of the social elite, which was carried on poles by two people. This chair-shaped clock case is crafted from gilt bronze (ormolu) and decorated with festoons and a flower finial. At its centre, there is a circular white enamel dial, which features Arabic Numbers, colorful swag paintings, and the manufacturer’s name, 'Fd Gervais / Ft du Bronzes / A Paris'. This Rovinette candleholder is born from a reflection on historical landscapes. Architectures, archetypal shapes that allow the creation of a personal Capriccio vedutista. Rovinette candleholder establishes a visual imaginary that offers a brief escape from modernity. Looking up from work is the first step of a brief walk between ruins, an intimate space of solace and contemplation. Handmade in Italy in Carrara marble the Rovinette candleholder is elegant and reminds a fallen roman temple and is suitable for modern and classic interiors. These are objects that happily grow old: unafraid of the flow of time, they are an invitation to immerse oneself in it. Ilaria Bianchi is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Milan. She works for design studios, galleries, companies, and private clients. Ilaria started her own practice in 2015, after her degree in Industrial Design at the Polytechnic of Turin, and an MA in Ceramic, Furniture, and Jewelry Design at Central Saint Martins in London. The studio works are shown in galleries, cultural centers, and international fairs such as the Victoria & Albert Museum, Triennale di Milano, Building Gallery, Dimore Gallery...
