This large and highly decorative Impressionist frame is made of wood and dates from around 1880 in France. A piece that can be used in a classic way to frame an oil painting or a modern graphic. But the frame can also be used in other ways. Either you make a mirror out of it, or you hang the frame on the wall as it is, as part of a collage. The gilding is original and of the period. The handmade stucco ornaments show, among other things, fulcrums and acanthus. The wooden frame has a really special and beautiful patina, fitting perfectly to lots of paintings...
