A striking German Art Deco figural table lamp by Walther & Söhne, dating to circa 1930, executed predominantly in hand-moulded frosted silk glass and displaying the sculptural modernism for which German pressed-glass design of the period is celebrated. The lamp has an unusually architectural composition, with the moulded glass forming both the decorative body and illuminated sculptural element. Its elongated profile and geometric modelling create a distinctly Art Deco silhouette, while the translucent frosted surface gives the piece an almost ethereal appearance. The upper section culminates in a dramatic torch or flame-form glass shade, which diffuses the light through the textured glass and produces a soft atmospheric glow. The combination of figural modelling, geometric detailing and luminous glass makes the lamp particularly effective both illuminated and unlit. Manufactured by Walther & Söhne, the piece reflects the innovative decorative glass production emerging from Germany during the interwar period, when traditional figurative subjects were increasingly interpreted through streamlined Art Deco forms. The lamp retains period Bakelite components and a B22 fitting and has been professionally rewired. It is presented in beautiful period condition with natural age-related character.
