Oak Cognac leather level daybed by Msds Studio Materials: Camo leather, foam, oak. Dimensions: D 76.5 x W 190 x H 41 cm The founders, Mia and Torben Koed, decided to put their 30 years of experience into a new project. It was time for a change and a new challenge. The challenge was to build an ambitious design brand from the ground up with high-quality materials and great attention to the little details. With a drive to create new originals, the WOUD collection is founded upon the idea to look ahead instead of looking back and share the love for honest design. Therefore, we are eager to discover and develop new ideas whether it being in form, function or choice of material. MSDS STUDIO is a successful Canadian design studio that works in interior, furniture and lighting design. The designers behind the studio are Jessica Nakanishi and Jonathan Sabine. A couple who have mastered to get their name established at numerous of the world’s leading design brands in a few years. We are proud to be able to have three of their designs in our collection. The studio is dedicated to material exploration, rigour and resourcefulness. With a modern approach to design, they create innovative design that engages contemporary culture while staying true to the inheritance of craftsmanship. Their work synthesises very meticulous considerations of color, form and space, which results in simple designs. The Annular pendant was the product that started the collaboration of MSDS and WOUD. Bringing together contrasting materials and a simple form, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have created a statement two and three-seater sofa that is also a welcoming retreat. The wide panels of the powder-coated metal frame feature a slim edge profile, creating a surprising sense of lightness. This offsets the sofa’s generous dimensions and deep cushions, providing a particularly large seating area in comparison to its floor footprint. Skilfully made and upholstered in Udine, Italy. The metal frame is extremely solid and hard wearing anticipating an unusually long lifespan. The set of removable seat cushions are durable but when the time comes to update the sofa they are easily and economically replaced with an entirely new look.
