A very large Vintage Mid Century Teak Knighstbridge sideboard/credenza designed by Robert Heritage for Archie Shine. Standing at just over 244cm in length the Knightsbridge really was the Grand Daddy of all Heritage’s amazing sideboards; not to mention the combination of wood that gave it a wonderfully aesthetic appeal. It’s therefore a long sideboard that would naturally suit a large room or hallway. The drawer section is ribbed with a richer darker colour whereas the main cupboard and top section is a more traditional golden teak. But in addition, Heritage has finished the main doors off in a lighter colour too which reflects light across the grain – the doors can therefore look lighter or darker in colour as you walk around the piece. As regards storage, there’s a lot on offer. The sideboard has 4 large drawers with beautifully detailed handles and with stylised ribbed fronts – and then there are two sets of doors which reveal two large two tier storage...

This is a superb antique George III inlaid flame mahogany serpentine sideboard, circa 1790 in date. With wood banding and marquetry spandrels, the central frieze drawer flanked by deep drawers, the right side drawer with divisions for bottles. The drawers fitted with the original and beautiful ormolu lion's head ring handles. It is raised on elegant square tapering legs on spade feet and is complete with working locks and key. The botanical name for the mahogany this item is made of is Swietenia macrophylla and this type of mahogany is not subject to CITES regulation.
