Posit Coffee Table by SNICKERIET

Located in Geneve, CH

Posit Coffee Table by SNICKERIET Dimensions: D 94 x W 138 x H 40 cm. Materials: Glass and cedar veneer. Posit is highly customizable. Glass proportions and dimensions can be adjusted as well as the material and coating of the base. Please contact us. The expression of Posit stems from its assembly, which has been stripped down to the most rudimentary components. The glass top is glued to the glass frame and is meticulously slid on top of a perfectly fitted cedar base. The balanced geometry is graphically framed by the refraction of the glass and the impressions of wood shift under its reflections. Posit is an airy coffee table that conveys precision but at the same time a curious playfulness. SNICKERIET is a furniture studio with an explorative approach to traditional woodworking craft and philosophy. Projects are initiated as research into topics revolving technique, construction, decoration and material properties. The findings are released in the form of individual pieces of furniture. The studio was founded in 2011 and is based in Stockholm and Gothenburg. The series is an ode to the aesthetics that I fell in love with in a geometrical sculptural works of art and the interesting perfect form of the historical hexagon. It's fascinating how hexagons are part of our life but fail to realize this. It all comes down to the element that is present throughout our body, and that is carbon. The use of the form dates back to ancient Mesopotamia...

Pilast Sculptural Side Table by SNICKERIET Dimensions: D 32 x W 28 x H 55 cm. Materials: Stone composite. Pilast can be customisable in color. Please contact us. Pilast is a sculptural piece of occasional furniture. It is inspired by the early 19th-century neoclassical style ’Swedish Empire’ and serves as both a side table and a stool. Pilast is crafted using traditional wood bending techniques applied to a modern, pure white stone composite. The result looks as if carved from marble, but a closer inspection reveals an unexpected precision in both material and shape. As an amalgam of classical clues, traditional craft, and modern material, Pilast has an unusual presence.
