A stunning and uncommon early Victorian (circa 1850s) bracelet was hand-crafted in silver and features eight hand-carved and polished agate gemstones. Among the different varieties of agate in the bracelet are Scottish Montrose agate, moss agate, carnelian, dendrite agate, and bloodstone. Each stone was hand-carved and polished and measures approximately 22mm x 9mm. The faces of each stone are slightly domed while the backs are polished flat and smooth. Each agate has been painstakingly drilled to accommodate the handmade silver chain. The clasp is also handmade, of course, and features a foliate flourish. The safety chain is a unique and handmade chain and is original to the bracelet. One of the stones wears a sterling band. This would be an old repair and it would also be the reason I bought this bracelet. I love well-done old repairs. They show such reverence. I happen to know through a very reliable source that HRH The Prince of Wales has his fine suits mended as need be instead of merely replaced. We throw away too many fine things. We don't mend enough. Bracelets such as this became popular in the middle of the 19th Century, which is when this bracelet was created so it is an early example and that makes it both important and rare. A fine and impressive vintage 30.12 Carat citrine and cultured pearl, 9 karat yellow gold bracelet; part of our diverse antique jewelry and estate jewelry collections. This fine and impressive vintage bracelet has been crafted in 9k yellow gold. The vintage bracelet is comprised of ten oval links, each accented with an impressive claw set oval faceted cut citrine. The impressive citrine bracelet is further ornamented with twenty cultured pearls, set in pairs at alternating intervals between the citrine links. The yellow gold bracelet secures with an integrated hallmarked push fit clasp, concealed behind one of the citrine links. The bracelet is hallmarked to the tongue of the clasp with the fineness mark for 9k gold (9 .375) and to the reverse of the clasp with the maker's mark (DJE), the 9k gold mark (9 .375), the Edinburgh Assay Office hallmark (Edinburgh castle) and the date letter for 1967 (M). This impressive yellow gold citrine bracelet is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card. Images do not always reflect the true color and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds.
