French 1900 Edwardian Tortoise Parasol Handle in 18kt Yellow Gold Carved Citrine

Edwardian parasol handle made in France.
Very beautiful and elegant piece, created in Paris France during the Edwardian and Belle Epoque periods, back in the 1900. This fabulous parasol handle has been designed with French neo-classic patterns in the style of Louis XVI. Crafted by assembling pieces made up in 18 karats yellow gold, carved citrine and amber color faux tortoise. The baton is fitted with a screw to attach to any parasol or cane. The round gold parts on top are made with multiple leaf motifs, bows, tassels and floral clusters, typical from the Belle Epoque period.
Gemstones: The top part is mounted, with 1 cylinder cabochon cut of natural translucent citrine quartz of about 120 carats.
Birthstone: Citrine, for the month of November.
Weight: 66.95 Grams, (42.91 Dwt).
Measurements: 248 mm by 20 mm (9.75 x 0.79 Inches).
Hallmarks: Both gold parts are stamped with French marks; the head of the eagle for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold and the maker's maitre mark inside a lozange cartouche.
Edwardian era, like the Georgian and Victorian eras before it, derives its name from the reign of the English King, Edward VII (1901-1910). Edwardian jewelry is known for representing femininity while incorporating a lot of the color white. Think diamonds, pearls and white metals like platinum and white gold. Diamonds often had an Old Mine or European cut and sapphires were a popular choice for a pop of color. They tended to be made from platinum and diamonds – the more, the merrier – and used fashionable, intricate techniques such as filigree and millegrain. This is a beautiful perfume atomizer bottle, created in London England for the jewelry house of Cartier, back in 1939. The vintage atomizer has been crafter with cylindrical shape in yellow gold of 9 karats and decorated with engine turned designs. It in pristine and excellent condition with no dents or marks and is accompanied by the original Cartier fitted box.
Cartier in London
In 1902, Cartier opened its first boutique in London, overseen by Pierre Cartier, who had a special relationship with the royal court. In 1904, the Maison received its first warrant as an official supplier to the court of King Edward VII. The Bond Street boutique became a must-see address as soon as it opened in 1909, alive with the excitement of exquisite orders and the appointments of the British. From Cartier, thanks.

THIS IS A WONDERFUL ANTIQUE VICTORIAN HEART SHAPE LOCKET, MATCH HOLDER STRIKER OR PERFUME VINAIGRETTE BY THE ESTEEMED BRITISH SILVERSMITH WILLIAM HAIR HASELER. HASELER WAS FAMED FOR PARTNERING WITH LIBERTY & CO. OF LONDON AND PRODUCING THE WORKS DESIGNED BY ARCHIBALD KNOX.
THE SILVER LOCKET PENDANT IS IN THE FORM OF A HEART. IT HAS BEAUTIFUL ACANTHUS LEAF SCROLL MOTIF ENGRAVING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE LOCKET. ON ONE SIDE ARE THREE VICTORIAN INITIALS AT THE BOTTOM. THE LOCKET HAS A MATCH STRIKER ON ONE SIDE. THE HEART MOTIF IS BEAUTIFULLY RENDERED IN THIS ANTIQUE JEWEL. THE LOCKET IS ALSO A WONDERFUL PIECE OF TOBACCIANA WITH ITS MATCH HOLDER AND STRIKER DESIGN.
THE HEART LOCKET DATES TO CIRCA 1870-1900.
William Hair Haseler was born to John and Sarah Evett (Hair) Haseler in 1821/1822 in Birmingham, England. In 1870, Haseler founded the company, W. H. Haseler & Co., specializing in gold and silver work, and jewelry.
Five years later, Arthur Lasenby Liberty (1843-1917) started a small shop on the corner of Regent Street in London. Specializing in exotic goods from Japan and the Far East, his business thrived and he became a leading merchant to the upper classes, including famous members of the Pre-Raphaelite movement. The store soon became the most fashionable place to shop in London, featuring luxurious wares including fabrics, clothing, furniture, clocks, jewelry, wallpapers and decorative objects of all kinds. His efforts to promote the Art Nouveau style, with its depiction of leaves and flowers in flowing ornamental lines, were so influential that the term “Stile Liberty” became the accepted term for the style in Italy.
