Provenance Acquired by the gallery directly from the artist Signed "Peter Adams" on lower right Description This plein air oil painting depicts the uniqueness of Anacapa Island in the chain of Southern California’s Channel Islands archipelago. Anacapa was formed by volcanic eruptions. Its desolate landscape is dominated by a distinct geology of steep precipices and jagged rock formations. From this elevated viewpoint, Adams portrays the location known as Cathedral Cove with its outcropping spires and massive kelp beds that hug the shoreline. The peak of the middle island of Anacapa is visible in the distance, and further out to sea is Santa Cruz Island...

The sounds of the waves crashing, the exhilarating patterns of foam and spray, the stark contrast of light and shadows excite and enliven my imagination. I am able to totally lose myself in what I am looking at and somehow the painting seems to paint itself.” — Peter Adams Exhibited Frederick R. Description im Solliday's pastel painting, "Moonlit Arroyo Pathway," invites the viewer to a moonlight hike along a meandering trail that gently vanishes into the undulating landscape of hills. The rolling clouds above accentuate the fullness of the landscape while a radiant moon bathes the scene in a celestial glow, casting its luminous enchantment upon the scene. Solliday's meticulous attention to delineated edges skillfully captures the rich textures and authentic essence of the natural world, transporting the observer into a mesmerizing nocturnal dreamscape. Provenance Acquired by the artist directly from the artist Signed "N. Fabia" on lower left Artist Statement “My painting, Mother and Child, is a depiction of my daughter and I, inspired by whimsical themes we both enjoy. Studying Pre-Raphaelite paintings, Mother and Child evokes rich Roman Catholic iconography. Poland has this imagery everywhere, as it is home to Our Lady of Czensztochowa. As I am Polish, I draw heavy affection for this imagery. While creating this work I kept this Agatha Christie quote in mind: ‘A mother’s love for her child is like nothing else in the world, it knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.’ In this painting I’ve chosen to portray us outdoors in a dreamlike setting, using vivid colors, lighting and environment. I’ve applied gold and pearlescent paint in the foundation layers which peek through at times. In choosing a pose—her hands touching my face, I hope the viewer sees the love and bond that we share.” —Natalia Fabia...

Provenance Acquired by the gallery directly from the artist Signed "Dunaway" on lower left Artist Statement “I often will go on painting trips with other artists to remote locations to do plein air sketches and gather reference for larger studio paintings. This was painted from a winter painting trip to Montana, where about ten of us gathered together at a cabin in February to paint landscapes and portraits in the snow. The morning when I saw this scene, we were all heading out into the fresh snow to go paint landscape—my artist friend was standing just outside the door of the cabin in this pose, contemplating the day ahead and looking like a painting himself! The early morning sky was white, as fresh snow was falling all around, blanketing the landscape and tree behind him. I knew this was a moment I had to capture in paint—an artist immersed in reflective thought on a winter morning.” —Michelle Dunaway...
